This is my favorite band, and it's so wonderful to see someone discovering them with such pure joy! Great reaction! Keep listening, they have a lot of awesome stuff, very diverse.
Honestly these guys are FANTASTIC! They sort of have a different theme with each album, which I think is so cool! The different feels of each album not only keeps things REALLY interesting, but let's you experience them in different ways! I found them with the Thornstar album, so 100% recommend that, On This Rock I Will Build My Church, Black Halo, and Haythor are my top 3 from that album if you want a starting point!!
@Antonio on the go Feb 2020 I went to an indoor 2 day festival to see them live in Birmingham UK- I was so excited to see them! They had to pull out because of a mysterious flu going round that had gotten Chris... The next month we were in lockdown! BUT I met Class, and watched Pi play live with Equilibrium as I think thier guitarist was downed at the same time as Chris! Still waiting for an opportunity to see them live, but I sported thier mask during the pandemic!!
Great reaction, thank you! :) Lord of the Lost really are a great band and I'm hyped that they will go to the ESC for Germany! Finally good music from Germany at the ESC :D You said at the beginning that you knew most of the metal bands. I wonder if you have heard of the Japanese metal band Dir en grey?
@@jameswolfblood 'Vinushka' is always a great start as the song shows many of their musical facets. I highly recommend the yt channel of Kayaちゃんねる as he/she has added english subtitles to many live videos. This is the one for vinushka ua-cam.com/video/BVhAVHcu-r0/v-deo.html Basically I can only recommend to listen to the songs always with English subtitles (original language is 90% Japanese), because the lyrics are an important part of their artwork. For further recommendations, it would be helpful to know how hard it may get? They have some ballads or ballad-like songs like 'Oboro' (there is no live version yet but here is their pv with subtitles ua-cam.com/video/Or0xdJwV_Ok/v-deo.html) from their current album or 'Tousei', 'Conceived Sorrow', 'Zetsuentai', 'Rinkaku' or 'Ranunculus'. They have songs like 'Macabre' (new version) and 'Phenomenon' that are more experimental. Then there are many with a mix of shouting and clean vocals like 'Hageshisa to, kono mune no naka de karamitsuita shakunetsu no yami', 'The world of mercy', 'Obscure' (old and new version are interesting as you can follow their musical evolution well), 'Different Sense', 'Unraveling' or 'Schadenfreude' (from their newest album, there is no live version yet). And then there are their hard songs without clean parts like 'Agitated screams of maggots', 'Decayed Crow', 'Rasetsukoku' or 'Downfall'. In this category are their most straightforward songs. Unless it says otherwise, you'll find all of these songs on Kaya's channel as live vesions with english subtitles :)
Great Video! Highly recommend checking out more of their stuff but be aware that every one of their albums is unique and different - this song for example is taken from their latest album (8th studio album released December 30th, 2022) which is all dedicated to their love for the 80s. The previous album (Judas - July 2021) has a concept behind it with a leitmotif and they even recreated a whole choir with some of their singer friends to create some epic sounding tracks. Enjoy diving into their discography! :)
I've never seen the band before, but the singer's voice sounded very familiar. I saw him on one song (Mono Inc. "Children of the dark") with three other German singers. But he has changed a lot visually. ua-cam.com/video/ocbLw49Or44/v-deo.html
He has, but also has his phases when he tones it down (Judas album for the most part) and when he goes full drama with the costumes and make-up (Thornstar and Blood and Glitter are both good examples).
They''re even better live. They're chameleons, not really fitting into any 1 genre, which I much prefer. My personal favourites are Raining Stars & Ruins.
Thank you!
Thank you! Stoked to dive into your discography!
Dude you gotta listen to Judas. The song Priest is an absolute masterpiece.

Same here, Thornstar put me on to them. They're incredible. Can't wait until they come to the states. If not, I'm going to Germany to see them.

@@treedykins Oh wow !!! Better than nothing though!
@@Antonioonthego They had problems getting a work visa to play in the US twice already. So don't get your hopes up anytime soon
Politics.... probably due to their material and lyrics. LOTL played in America before, but at very small venues.@@tim_goll

I know of Dir en grey, but I will be honest, I haven't listened to much from them! Any recommendations on what songs to start with?!

I always recommend Lord of the Lost and Avatar to people. Both bands (personally) believe are extremely underrated. Great reaction
Thank you! Love me some Avatar and stoked to hear more from Lord of the Lost. Awesome bands
This is just awesome! First time I see someone mentioning my two favorite bands together like this!

Wow 12 Points to Germany ❤️🐶
Would greatly support a react to Tommy Johansson's cover of "I Still Standing".

Funny enough I've heard that song, which would explain why I felt his voice sounded familiar!
