During the battle a round struck kolobanov's tanks turret ring jamming the turret but they pressed on using the steering to adjust the aim. His tank was in a rise of to the side of the road several hundred meters back so he could see the sides of the german tanks. Finally 43 german tanks were destroyed no russian tanks were lost.

yea the Panzer IV was in service but it was only armed (at this stage) with the short barreled 75mm howitzer, when the Germans encountered the T-34's and the KV-1's they tried up gunning the Panzer 3's to the long barreled 50mm which was "okaaaaaay" but it couldn't go any further due to the size of the turret ring, the Panzer IV had a larger turret ring and so was the choice for the longer barreled 75mm cannon to successfully counter the T-34's and KV-1's, and yea if the Germans had the "Panzer IV Ausf. F2" in the beginning the Soviet counter wouldn't have stood a chance!

While the tanks shown here are good, so are the later German tanks. The tanks that got took out here were little more then "fodder" tank wise. The weaker version of the German tanks. Pushing into a swamp with these tanks is also unwise. There's ways to deal with a few heavy tanks even if you got weak ones. But it only happens when you get close enough on foot to open the hatch and toss a grenade in or something. The mistake here is trying to just keep shooting the tanks with weaker tanks. When a grenade in the hatch (or down the barrel) can do the job. Reckless? Sure. But if you're losing that badly any way and it's known to work when people do it then there you go. Doesn't matter how much armor the tank has if you detonate it from the inside and set off the ammo. Behind on the tank also means the guns can't shoot you. The crew would have to deal with that or let you remain on the tank, sabotaging it.

A lot T-34s were of low quality, resulting in a lot of malfunctions as well as horrible armor quality (resulting in an issue called armor spalling).
