@@pennsyltuckyreb9800 I have 4 of them, the 12, 14, and 18 inch . The 14in I have in two blade types, the bolo and standard blade, the bolo is great blade but I like the standard blade best.
I wasn’t aware of it either & now I’m digging it. I’m a fan of short machetes & I’ve loved old hickory since I was a boy. It was my mom’s “ chicken boning knife” 😂. Great review man, thanks.
Chopping tiny sticks like that you should be able to cut them with one chop. Either your machete is dull as can be or the edge geometry isn't very good. I'll stick with my Ontario.

That's awesome man!! I had no clue Old Hickory made a machete. I have quite a few different knives from them and I love all of them!!!
Yep, i need that. It will fix all my problems! Thanks for the video!
At 75 years old I can use my Gator Jr. to take sapling down with one swipe.
This reminds me somewhat of the Cold Steel Bowie Knife.
I think I will stick with my $12 12in tramontina machete
I was going to write that. Tramontina machetes are cheap and sturdy.
Trams are where it's at. My personal favorite is the 24".... but the 12" is great too!
@@pennsyltuckyreb9800 the 14in tramontina is my favorite
@@steveyoung9951 That's the bolo version, right? They're all good

Looks pretty cool but I think I like my kukri more than I would like that
Very cool but looks likeit needs some sharppening
I mentioned that it did
I have an Old Hickory Kephart, been having a hard time finding a Manchette version of this brand.
Ontario make great slightly thicker machetes. My oldest one I've been running for 20 plus years ND done ll kinds of stuff with it

Definitely needs sharpened. Like the size though. Stay safe
Yes it does! Been working on that
How thick is the stock on that blade? It's not listed anywhere online.

He said it needed to be sharpened. I missed that also.
Which Ontario do you have? Had it long?
The ontario is way too thick IMO. If you need a heavy chopper just use a hatchet.
