I saw Adam Lambert when he played the part of Joshua in 2004. We gave him a standing ovation. He was AMAZING then and he still is AMAZING!!!! Keep on shining Adam!

I was fortunate enough to see Adam in The Ten Commandments too. When Adam sang, the audience sat in stunned silence. And then gave him an immediate standing ovation. He was the only performer that got a standing ovation. I turned to my friend and said, “This guy is going to be a major star.” Shortly after that he was in American Idol and the rest is history. IMHO Adam is the absolute best vocalist of all time.
me too, actually this production was set up by max azria the fashion designer and he was like family to me so we went to see this play front row every day for a month or so at the iMax Theater on Hollywood Blvd., Adam was hands down the one who stole the show, i got to eat lunch with val Kilmer on several occasions behind the set and as a side note Alison porter who also was a main character in this production was incredible and dated Michael azria (max's son) and so she came over his house a lot and i'd see her there. she also did great, winning the voice not too long ago on Christina Aguileras' team. small world.

I rarely jump up and down these days for music because artists seem to come and go fast and then drop off the radar. Finding Adam Lambert during the Netflix documentary and after a decade saying there's no Queen without Freddie, I have been living in a glitter-filled wonderland because of his voice. And boy did he restore my faith in vocalists, talent, and in Queen. Why he is still the most underrated vocalist out there, is beyond me. From Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love on American Idol to his more than perfect Queen performances, he can do anything with his voice.

He has one of the most stunning voices, I would love to hear him record something using an orchestral backing with perfect recording.
Like, for real, was anybody listening? How were such insane vocals overlooked for so fucking long?
I love how he actually puts emotion into his singing, you can tell that he actually feels like breaking down because of how emotional the song is unlike some people who just fake acting.

In just a few minutes Adam will perform as frontman for the classic rock group Queen, in Vegas. Go Adam!
I watched it with my mom and I can't forget the moment he started to sing. we were totally blown away by him. It was a long time ago so it wasn't quite obvious to me to just look for him online (also I was 12 y/o) though I was thinking about his performance a lot, dunno why. A few years later we were watching his audition on American Idol and discussing about him winning, without knowing that's the same guy. I became a fan, probably the biggest in my high school since pretty much no one in Israel watched it. Around this time I was mature enough to google him and find this video. You really can't imagine how glad I was, I literally cried. Every now and then I watch this performance so I could just close my eyes and remember the feeling I had the first time I ever heard his voice.

The facial hair now makes him look so much older. I hope the beard/ mustache trend will soon be over. Adam's face is so perfect. He needs nothing to cover it up. He's breath taking to look at & hear.

He said in an interview that he was hiding his real self with all that cover up, not that he won't do that again but that he is comfortable being himself. He has freckles and red hair. You can recognize that beautiful voice every time he sings.
A gay man brought me closer to the understanding of God and how we ALL feel in times of torment than anyone else has ever done. I don't know if this means anything, but I love this song more than anything non-the less. I'm not a fanatic, but this is THE most beautiful songs of torment that I've ever heard. And I love God. There's this 'drive' in his voice that I rarely hear (or never hear) from other singers. It gives me goosebumps all the way up my spine.
Also, I always look out for that slight 'rasp', it happened here around 3:51. I don't know whether it's intentional or it just happens but I love it! So badass! And I'm always in awe of his improvisations!
There's a story about somebody once criticising Enrico Caruso, for a technical imperfection in one of his recordings. He responded that that was the emotion.
I don't know, it may be Adam's intention, but it's always struck me that that rasp is probably the same thing...
Its definitely intentional. If you listen to other pre-idol recordings you can hear Adam sing with a stunningly beautiful lyrical tenor with absolutely no rasp. He's a chameleon, able to drive his voice to suit the genre. The rasp suits the style of the song and conveys the desperate message he is pleading. He's astonishing.
chezzasan that's exactly what I always feel.... it's not only if he gets to higher notes....buts the quality.....he can sing as an angel in "came to me, bend to me"....the best performance of this musical also.... and always alive!!!!!

This was the first song I ever heard Adam do. My aunt showed it to me and while I was way too young to understand what the song was about, I could feel the emotion conveyed by his voice.
Then she showed me his performance on American Idol and I was completely obsessed.

Adam is a PHENOMENAL TALENT!!! It's a shame that in his own country the United States, he is sooooo underrated. To no ones offense, damn Rappers get more praise and glory, some on a high pedestal. Why is this? Rapping in my book has NO MERIT, it's just TALKING! Talking at a fast pace with music. Really? Seriously? This is what's popular??? Adam deserves all good things an artist can achieve, been singing since he was a child, has years of experience on stage, is an excellent actor, writes his own songs on occasion, is the real deal, doesn't lip sinc or use back up tracks, recordings but his OWN voice, pure and raw! For over 5 years a successful run with Queen as frontman, to which he is getting RAVE REVIEWS, in spite of those Freddie fanatics who continually bash him and also Brian May and Roger Taylor. I can't wait for album 4, which according to Adam is "retro rock, bluesy". The damn US radio stations better play his music, "cause Adam gets AirPlay in Europe, Asia and South America and other countries. In closing, Adam is this generations Rock Legend, carrying the torch from the likes of Freddie Mercury, George Michaels, Prince. Adam is a force to be reckoned with, he has the TOTAL PACKAGE, and a bonus, he's EYE CANDY. :)))

Adam Lambert is one of the greatest singers of his generation. Every time I watch this, or any of the other videos of his performances, I just marvel at his talent. He deserves huge success.

Had no idea who he was when I got this movie on DVD, great songs! The woman who plays Pharoah's daughter is amazing, too.
I painted that set and got to listen to Adam sing during the rehearsals. Each time he would sing all the Scenic Artists would ask, "Who is this guy? He is amazing!" We had no clue who he was but knew he was on his way to a great career. It brings back joyful memories to watch this video and remember how it sounded in person, just a few feet away.

My god, Adam just utterly commands the stage when he performs. He completely outshines Val Kilmer, you can see it -- not intentionally, but he just has the charisma, confidence and delivery. His voice is supreme, and this rendition conveys all the appropriate passion. He is simply excellent as a stage singer.
