Hello!! To get a stallion is a random chance. Sadly this is a bit more random than made and stallions in the game as a whole are considered more rare than a mare. PS you can not breed the nightmare horse! Thank you so much and I hope this was helpful!
The more rare of an item you are trying to get the more expensive a box you should try to buy. The $60,000 one is probably your best bet, but on the screen it will show you your chances of getting a more rare item depending on which chest you have selected
You can get apples by cutting down tress if you don’t want to spend money
