What's REALLY nice about these videos is that you understand exactly what we struggle with and use data to back up your tips. There's a lot of GMs that will do some video tutorial and try to explain overly complicated and specific concepts that the majority of chess players will not benefit from. I don't know how you do it, but you're truly an anomaly of all the chess teachers out there, and every video helps me and others progress in some capacity.
Yeah most of my losses are not applying the blunder check or making endgame mistakes. I can't get the mindset in the middle of a game to check for blunders before making a move and then I forgot and horrible things happen Update: i applied the blunder check and in 4 days I gained 30 points in blitz and 50 in rapid. That was helpful
Nice video, this is about where I am stuck rating-wise. If I really pay attention, I notice everything you mention. For me, it's the lack of patience causing a blunder that gets me most of the time. I'm just getting better at seeing the knight fork coming in now. That one used to kill me every time!
I lose because sometimes i simply fail to see something right in front of me ... Its like my opponents pieces just appear out of thin air, and i'm like wait was that piece even there !
that also happens to me, I think the best way to notice is reviewing your games and try no to make the same mistakes, also play for fun sometimes is stressful. I just pass 1100 and now try to reach 1200.
Most of the time stuff like that happens it's a discovered attack. Always be scared of pieces pointed at your queen or king even especially if there is a piece in between.
Yo this is pretty cool. I'm kind of questing to find the kind of themes(maybe) of like 1300-1400 rated tactics. Like when I do a puzzle rush, it's where I likely get caught. (like if I make it past, then hitting 1700,1800, sometimes even 2000 is kind of a breeze in comparison.) Like there is something unique in the calculation in that particular rating range that doesn't make any sense in my mind. Worst part is, I'm not even sure how to ask the question in a sensible way. First time commenter. Won't hold it against you if this doesn't reach your priority list. Just liked the video, shot in the dark on the ask.
11:23 i'm living through this lack of foresight in myself by bringing out both knights. one of my friends does this to me all the time with white - will use this into for next time. all the advice is great, thanks!
Blunder check 1. Look at the move you are about to make and see if it's obviously giving away a piece 2. Look at your opponent's last move and see if there are any obvious threats because of that move. 3. Are there any checks for the king 4. Is the queen going to be in danger
At 12:38 it is best to check the opponent's bishop to see which color it covers and choose your castle pawn advancement accordingly. So then in this case it might be better to advance the g2 pawn rather than the h2 pawn.
Thanks so much for the tips! I am currently stuck at 1240 (after a really bad tilt period) and hoping to cross the 1500 boundary soon. Keep up the good content!
I started playing about a year ago and the biggest thing for me getting out of 1000 and 1100 was slowing down and focusing on development instead of trading pieces right off the bat
sir, you are my favorite of all. i kindly need a more clarification on endgame with pawn and rook remain. Yu said it's not a good idea to have two steps for a rook to aim opponent pawn something.. Can you tell me what's the best way to deal opponent pawn in endgames.. please.. Thank you .. thug
Top priority is to make sure you watch the advanced passed pawns so they don't get by and become a queen. Best way to do that is to put your king in a very active spot near the center of the board or wherever it stops or attacks the most pawns. Once you have that good setup, then you can start using your rook to chase pawns down. Hope that helps!
15:18 I wouldn't say this is "Very good for black". Black is probably slightly better off here I'm not debating that, but to say "very good" is a stretch. They only have a very slight initiative. The white rook is coming over to c1 to hang on to that c pawn its gonna be okay. Then the white king is coming over to chase the black rook away and come to the center. Because each side only has 1 rook on the board I don't think it is enough to win not even close. White should be able to defend this without much trouble. All the pawns are symmetrical, and none are too advanced or passed and there is nothing good to target without a counter attack. That black rook is only on the 7th very temporarily and it will be chased away pretty soon. The black attack fizzles out and it looks drawish.
i was 1200 once, but then i fell back all the way to 1110 and hav been struggling to claw back... this video was really helpful, gotta start working on the blunder check. keep up the great content!
Great video, bro. The tips about the pawn pushes on the early castled king are suuuper helpful. I always get mated because I panic and open the H file. Thanks 😊
12:50 The third precaution to take seems to be completing the development, that is having the c1 bishop somewhere else so that the rook in a1 controls the first rank.

@@ChessVibesOfficial Thanks for the quick answer and for a lot of good and instructive videos. In rapid, I have below 1200 on chess.com and 1600 on lichess (Sting65). Some of the players in the local club have 1600 on chess.com and 1800 on lichess. And the best club members above fide 2000 have about the same on chess.com and lichess. 1200 players... The number 1 problem I see with players around that level is hanging pieces or mates. You can beat a 1200 just shuffling pieces around waiting for them to offer free material.

Yeah generally speaking white wins more than black. Maybe you're more comfortable with the openings you play as black? Otherwise I'm not sure about that one.

What are these ratings from? 1200 in what rating system? Fide, chess.com, lichess? Lichess and chess.com are very different especially
I think chess.com because these mistakes het made at 1200 in chess.com
