Mr. Cheeks and The Lost Boyz are Certified Hip-Hop Legends. Anyone dissing them is obviously not a True Hip-Hop Head and was probably born in 99-2000 and forward. Put some respect on LB Fam
Damn Mr. Cheeks saying the things other old school rappers are afraid to say. Respect for not wearing the skinny jeans, dress and finger nail polish. We need a balance from just what they’re feeding us. Respect to Gil Scott-Heron a legend.
John Kendrick what you fail to realize is we were supposed to learn from those rapper on what not to wear. Who said that grand master flash attire was right and exact? They were dressing like parliament and the disco dudes. If you don’t know your past you’re doom to repeat it. This generation is dressing weird like they did when rapper start getting notice. Plain and simple these new rappers dress weird and they put on dresses. For some reason sir you over looked my comment about having a balance in this crazy clothing trend.

These are street cats; I can get with that. The term " hater" is way overused in todays culture, in the wrong context. I can hate because of skin color, political or religious beliefs, etc. Because I refuse to wear women's clothes, or skinny jeans, or your music, is not hate; just means I roll different....
You're right and wrong. The term hater is overused because nobody is as important as they think they are. Everybody thinks they're so important that everybody spend their days thinking about them when in reality 90% of the time nobody is thinking about them like that. Everybody doesn't walk around hating on you for anything.
Never knew Gil Scott was his uncle. The word legend gets thrown around a lot, but Gil was beyond that. He was a prophet. I can't even begin to get into how incredible an revolutionary an artist he was. Just go check out some records. Real Eyes. Winter In America. Bridges etc...
Hey bro im from Strong IslandNY and I grew up on ledgends like Mr Cheeks And the Lost Boys and Rakim EPMD and Public Enemy who were all from Strong IslandNY. Tell you what's funny,I recently watched wu tang with nas and busta as the best of new York tour, and couldn't help thinking how mr cheeks or lost boyz was never included,as these boys definitely put there hood on the global map,and am from the uk,but how much people outside of usa has ever heard of South Jamaica queen's?I knew about the place because I visited my auntie who lived there back in the 70s to the 80s and that's when I 1st met Mr sexx, rip because he lived nxt door to my auntie and he schooled me in the original hip hop head's from the entire us,but at the same time he was picking my brains on the culture of music we was listening to in the uk,so when he heard my reggae dance hall sound clashes,he quickly got the rest of lost boyz round and said listen to this and they was instantly addicted to it,as it was not only reggae but also soul sounds with a happy party feel to it,hence how you got that same sound coming from a lost boyz album,uk sounds like funkadelic, rapatack, touch a class,if none of you believe me just type out those names and add sound system at the end of it and you can hear them for yourselves on UA-cam,and then come back and tell me am lieing,we are all influenced by outside sounds, but people don't like to give credit where its due 😉
I got a chance to be around Cheeks in his prime. Shout out to Izzy DEAD, Madman Ran, and the whole LB Fam. Grew up listening to Lost Boyz, imitating the dances and all. Would do anything to get a feel good track from the whole crew.
Heavy Hand Productions! Haven't heard that in years. My team actually produced an album for Cheeks that never came out. You can google or search "What we Do" on YT and see the video for what was supposed to be the single. A lot of great music came out of that era particularly with Izzy and Madman. Everyone was kind of evolving for the better. Izzy was ahead of his time.
