Because the average salary of Indian professional is 25-30k. Jobs and opportunities are less and competition for good salary and good jobs are high. So going outside India for better job and opportunity is good for individual and for nation too.

I love punjabi films (I'm Punjabi - so a bit bias). -Punjabi films are much more family orientated. - there are many Punjabi films that are tackling social issues, like obsession with moving abroad, drugs e.t.c. - allot of Punjabi movie's have a strong nationalistic (army type films) themes. - allot of Punjabi films depict family struggles, family values, spiritual values

I will tell you three reasons why Bollywood has failed: 1) Since 2020, the covid pandemic brought lockdown and many people were bored of repeat telecast on TV, then they subscribed to OTT platforms and saw webseries by TVF, Dice Media, Cheers etc which were much better than Bollywood films. People were also exposed to Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali and Assamese films which were much better than Bollywood. 2) The death of Sushant Singh Rajput dealt a blow to Bollywood. It is alleged that he was killed by Drug Mafia as he was about to expose them. None of the Bollywood actors mourned his death and showed any sadness at his sudden demise. 3) Instead of acting or making good films the Bollywood actors have gone woke and are making stupid political statements.

The last good Hindi movies I watched was Dangal and recently Kashmir Files. For sheer quality of content and creativity, we can count on a good south movie every week.

Sir I TOTALLY agree with you. But I should add that "Bollywood" has been plagiarizing Western movies for decades now. In fact even much of the good movies meant for offshore individuals they did produce were either reruns from the past or "knock off story scripts" from Hollywood. I am talking from 90's, but problem goes even way back to the 70's such as with that song from the movie, "Sholay", "Mehbooba" which was a knock off melody wise of another Greek song. The artist of the original song eventually did find out and sued them for plagiarizing and won the lawsuit and compensation from "Bollywood" (if it was called that back then). In fact even if you look at the name, that ITSELF is a cheap "knock off" of the name "Hollywood". "South Films" even in their name shows "class" and "standard".

And about rich people going outside India. Well certainly it's true at some extent. Because the average salary of Indian professional is 25-30k. Jobs and opportunities are less and competition for good salary and good jobs are high.
So going outside India for better job and opportunity is good for individual and for nation too.
As an NRI, I disagree. We have no interest in low budget rip-offs like "Lal Singh Chadda". Bollywood, at this point, is making movies just for their own inner circle 😂

The last Bollywood movie that was able to grab my attention was Bhaavesh Joshi Superhero, although the movie was lacking in some aspects, I still enjoyed the whole vigilante thing they tried to experiment with.

The problem is not boycott. Bollywood is suffering from a creative crisis. The artists are plaqued by producers who want to make a quick buck by producing copies of scripts, movies and music that have already been successful, instead of taking a risk and creating something original. Today's audience has access to the originals and doesn't mind watching the dubbed version instead of a cheap copy starring the same old uncles or their kids. Even if they make a film "inspired by true events", they ruin it with melodrama and masala (and sometimes unnecessary in-your-face nationalism).
The political Boycott comes way after this! Movies have been under scrutiny and objection for a long time, and always will be, because such is the nature of art. There were controversial movies in every era. Only now has the entire industry started falling, because people just don't watch crap with a 'star' anymore.
Bollywood needs to give chances to good talent and focus on originality - in scripts, in acting, in production and in music. Period!

-Punjabi films are much more family orientated.
- there are many Punjabi films that are tackling social issues, like obsession with moving abroad, drugs e.t.c.

One more reason which is is important is that the the time when we expected our so called heros(which r just actors for money not cinema) did not pay condolences or stood to give justice to Sushant,s suspicious demise...it broke our hearts & we started hating these coward people of Bollywood Industry. The outsiders could not compete with privileged nepotism.
I will tell you three reasons why Bollywood has failed:
1) Since 2020, the covid pandemic brought lockdown and many people were bored of repeat telecast on TV, then they subscribed to OTT platforms and saw webseries by TVF, Dice Media, Cheers etc which were much better than Bollywood films.
People were also exposed to Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali and Assamese films which were much better than Bollywood.
2) The death of Sushant Singh Rajput dealt a blow to Bollywood. It is alleged that he was killed by Drug Mafia as he was about to expose them. None of the Bollywood actors mourned his death and showed any sadness at his sudden demise.
3) Instead of acting or making good films the Bollywood actors have gone woke and are making stupid political statements.

I was very young when PK came out, and I liked it a lot, thinking there were some logical issues it was raising, but I felt something was off, I couldn't put my finger on it, but now I know what was off, it was the balance. No criticism of Tripple Talak or Killing innocent animals with brutality or f..d up the practice of forcing women to wear a Resham black (energy absorbent) color whole body cloth in the 40+ degree heat of Indian summers and also moral policing them if they don't. No criticism of Allah and the Quran deserves even deeper discussion than Ved, Puran, God Shiv, and Ram. And Muhammad wasn't even mentioned once. The same was the case with the Bible and the god of old testament and its regressive thinking of "no other God but me" (the same is true in Islam), among other things.

Sir I TOTALLY agree with you. But I should add that "Bollywood" has been plagiarizing Western movies for decades now. In fact even much of the good movies meant for offshore individuals they did produce were either reruns from the past or "knock off story scripts" from Hollywood. I am talking from 90's, but problem goes even way back to the 70's such as with that song from the movie, "Sholay", "Mehbooba" which was a knock off melody wise of another Greek song. The artist of the original song eventually did find out and sued them for plagiarizing and won the lawsuit and compensation from "Bollywood" (if it was called that back then).
In fact even if you look at the name, that ITSELF is a cheap "knock off" of the name "Hollywood". "South Films" even in their name shows "class" and "standard".

If he sees a comedy film with a little drama he is happy.But now everyone due to internet have consumed so much good content that they have elevated their choice of movies.Which can be easily seen as Rocketery film was a master piece but people were reluctant to watch it .So when it came out on OTT it blew the box office charts .
The thing is films about which people are damn sure they only go to watch that.Otherwise sab ko pata hai Ki film bad main Telegram ya OTT pe mil jayegi.like people were crazy for KGF 2 and RRR, they knew those movies were worth watching in cinema so they got amazing box office collection par Bollywood movies weren’t so great so as an average consumer it would be easier for me to pay same price as a film ticket for OTT to watch same movie and moreover we can get even more content to access to .
