This randomly came up in my Recommended Videos section today and I'm so glad it did. I've scarcely ever heard a more simple, honest, and genuine country song in the modern day, and it hits all the points about being country and Southern in an increasingly anti-South and city world right on the head. It acknowledges how the world has changed so much that most folks often have no choice but to live a city life at least some of the time in order to make ends meet and how much country folks like us prefer the simplicity and the traditions of the kind of life our predecessors lived, and it highlights how it matters to country folk who Mamaw and Papaw were and were they came from and what our roots are, a foreign concept to most city folk, who are often too busy for their kinfolks who're alive and well, much less for the people they came from further back in time. Brings back great memories of a girl I once knew with the same sweetness and southern charm that I will never forget. I am a fan of folk finger style guitar and been playing for many years and this just makes my fondness for the folk-country styles of long ago and a simply life.
