Maria Bamford is NOT crazy. The WORLD is crazy. All intelligent sane people have difficulty adjusting to this stupid insane world. Few humans have the courage to confront so-called "reality," then return from the abyss to bring hope. Fewer still have the strength to confront craziness or the talent to make it beautifully funny. Maria is a treasure, on par with great scientific geniuses, but in a different medium with no math. Maria is a virtuoso performer on par with Bach, but in a different medium without instruments. SHE IS the instrument. She is a visionary. Like many others, I wish her more happiness, more joy, more appreciation for her unique gifts. Long live Maria!

I guess, judging by the comments, this is an uplifting message? I've long been a fan of Maria Bamford because she is so talented and so naturally funny. But she's also ALWAYS been hyper inwardly focused. In all her family and workplace bits, she was ALWAYS the victim. Every impression, as funny as they are, Mom, Dad, Sis, coworker, old school chum, ALL OF THEM are misunderstanding and mistreating innocent Maria. And she didn't, after years of devotion and disappointment, come to realize God isn't real. She's been an open atheist since the onset of her career. She jettisoned God before anyone knew her name. It's been decades of self-focus that has led her to such despair, despite success on a level most never achieve. A little devotion to something higher than herself would do her some good. She is, as many in these comments have said, an example for all of us.... an example of what not to follow. She does seem like a sweet person, and she's obviously beautiful and talented, but her philosophy of life is gross, and the outworkings of her life should be a warning sign to those who would adhere to her philosophy.
