I've replaced a lot of teflon direct injector seals. What I find works best is to start with the largest sizing die in the kit, install it onto the injector and leave it for a couple minutes. Then do that with the second largest die, third largest die, etc. until you have the seal resized to the correct size for your engine. Then remove the die and install the injector into the engine immediately. If you do it properly, you shouldn't need any lubricant or heat.

Great car, great parts, great job. I understand that US people may find European cars unnecessarily complicated, but they are not. They are sophisticated and refined down to their mechanics, especially Audi. You will have only one problem with it during maintenance : the upper bolt tends to seize in the hub carrier, and that complicates the disassembly of the two upper control arms (up to 4 hours to unmount). My advice : if you plan to do it, loosen the nut a little a week in advance, put wd40 every day, drive like that.
I follow Willem because of his photography work and I love cars, but what is worth mentioning is how better in overall the tons of comments on the car videos - thumbs up for the whole community
Super cool that you we’re close by! Coworker of mine recommended this shop you got the injectors done at and this sealed it for me to finally just ask for a quote lol honestly SCREW the rear wheel bearings on this platform. But I just love the way this car looks and drives.
When removing the intake on any FSI engine you have to lock the flaps in a certain position. Most of the times theres two corresponding holes, one in the actuator of the flaps and one in the intake casting to insert a nail or similar to lock them in service position. Dont forget to remove the nail after install though.
You just need to hold them open when you install them, @glixxy1641 as for why the runner flaps fully seat when on the head if you install them closed they will not be able to seat in the head you will get a code for each side.
Awesome work. The ECU flash update for the PCV only needs to be ONCE. You're S4 is a B8 and it's probably never needed the PCV changed out which is why you had to do it. Once it's done, it never needs to be done again. You could even get the older, higher pressure, PCV and not do the ECU update but the revised, lower pressure PCV is better. If you had bought a 2013-2016 (B8.5), the PCV is already the updated one so when it's time to change out the PCV, no update needs to be done. You can thank government over-reach/regulations for all this PCV/dirty intake valve nonsense. Also, don't recommend using Liqui Moly's Molygen New Generation oil (until they reforumlate). That's because it's a high calcium API SN rated oil. High calcium in DI motors can lead to LSPI (Low Speed Pre-Ignition) which can be catastrophic. You want a API SNPlus or API SP rated oil. A lot of "old guard" brands (Mobil 1, Valvoline, etc.) are making their Euro oils now API SP rated. Since you're using FCP Euro, I'd recommend using Driven DI40 oil for you car. It's a VERY stout oil that's formulated for results rather than to meet some retail price point so they don't skimp on the quality of the base oil nor the additives. I even use it on my lowly 2.0T motors because FCP.
36:28 don't worry about the single piston breaks. In the A4 version they're way smaller without much pressure. In the S4 they're just bigger and more powerful.
I got rid of it because it was getting close to 100k miles and I wasn’t going to have the money availible to service it. Went with something a little cheaper to repair in a 98 Tacoma.

there is a fluid chamber with a plastic body in the middle of it, with small channel cut through it. this allows fluid from the top chamber, through the plastic body, to the bottom chamber. the bottom chamber is rubber lined and can deform under pressure. there is also an airway vented to atmosphere, with a rubber membrane separating the fluid from the atmosphere. a solenoid valve, controlled by the motronic, can open or close the airway. below 1100 rpm (i.e idle), the engine vibrations are not enough to force fluid from the top chamber, through the passageway to the bottom chamber. the airway is open (solenoid valve open). the rubber membrane creates a soft cushion which absorbs the high frequency vibrations. above 1100 rpm the soleniod valve is closed which blocks the airway and so "hardens" the mount (the fluid has nowhere to go). thus the mount is effectively solid. the high frequency vibrations at speed are absorbed by the membrane (as in the idle case), while the more damaging low frequency vibrations cause the fluid to force itself through the chamber in the plastic body to the lower chamber, forcing the (lower) rubber chamber to distort - effectively absorbing the vibrations.
