He launders the money through pay pal he fills up his gas at the gas stations too using other people money... I dont know what to do i want to tip police off about this but i do care about this friend...

Finally, they work their blood sweat and tears to be able to pay those bills off after so much time. Not only have they saved their loved one's life... but they get to live debt free. Nope. Your friend would rather steal their money for their gas and a nice steak dinner instead of working for it like everyone else does. Are you seriously going to feel good about that because he's such a good friend to you?
I have a solution, but it might be expensive. Have a video scanner that scans the area that a credit card or debit card is normally inserted or slid to read the card's information. If the scanner detects enough significant (By significant, I mean about at least 5 percent off the nominal color value of that pixel.) changes in the color values of the pixels in that area then the system will be shut off for that gas pump and the cashier or corporate office for that service station will be notified and we know the rest of what will probably be done to access the situation.
They don't have time for that, they are more concerned about the merchandise inside the store. The convenience store companies don't make money off gas (and lottery), they sell it as a convenience to the customer. The real profits (usually 30% to 50% markup) is on merchandise.
My think is how do people that fall for this still purchase gas? Wouldn’t the transaction not go through because it went into the skimming device instead of the actual pumps card reader?
I support harsher penalties when u finally catch these crooks. These guys make hundreds of dollars an hour sitting in a cell when u add upp how much they profiled vs time spent in jail. If these guys make 50 000. Stealing then get a 10 days actually locked up they see it as part of the job and worth it after figuring that out. The real victims are people like me. Who do hard labor roofing all day risking my life for 12 bucks an hour only to find out someone took a credit card out in my name and maxxed them out and left me with the bill along with bad credit. I was working 50 hours a week and couldn't even rent a studio with the bad credit I got and had to live out of my truck for 7 months til I paid and cleared it and had to wait til they finally took it off my credit report I lost my gf my extra money and my self respect having to live like that. People don't understand the reality of this. They call themselves smart and me dumb and they make want to rip their heads off and when I do I'm the one going to get in trouble .. What's wrong with this is as long as the crime pays more than the punishment your going to have this problem
If they can produce a perfect plastic mould complimentary to different card points, I'm pretty sure that can make a sticker.

Just use Apple or Google pay. Eliminates skimmers

The latest is what that tape means is akin to tape. Theyre getting the info as its sent inside from the pump. They don't need a skimmer.

It happened to me this weekend got $800 off my gas card.
I'm glad scotch tape doesn't exist or someone could make it look like that sticker was never peeled up.
