    *Update 10/21/18, the tensioner I bought for this video already wore out. And of course we were 70 miles from home when it broke! Anyways I had to install a new one yesterday. Make sure to buy a quality tensioner and not a 20$ cheap one like i did.

    Does that make the belt keep coming off??

    • @zachf5195
      @zachf5195 2 роки тому

      This could be the issue. If the tensioner is starting to fail, it may not be keeping enough tension on the belt, so it pops off. Mine always just failed completely, so the belt didn't rotate at all

    I have the same problem on my 2012 Fusion 2.5L. What are the part numbers of the parts you have? I've been searching and the Ford Parts website lists a part that doesn't look anything like the part you have or what any aftermarket brand says.

    Man i just got the pulley but all i got was the pully itself nit the bracket, can i justmount it on the old one

      Thats how it came

    • @zachf5195
      @zachf5195 6 років тому

      vator exca05 if the pully came with the bearing installed then you may be able to use it. But if not then you will have to get the whole assembly so you can get a new, quiet bearing

    • @master_vator
      @master_vator 6 років тому

      Ya man, the bearing is in it so i should be good

    This is exactly the vid i was looking for...my cars making the exact same noise, Now i know. Do i have to take the belt right off though??

    • @zachf5195
      @zachf5195 6 років тому

      vator exca05 I'm glad this helped! And you will have to take the belt off of the tensioner puly but that's as far as you need to take it off

    • @zachf5195
      @zachf5195 3 роки тому +1

      @@tonycervantes4816 you do not have to take the belt all the way off. Once you remove the tensioner, the belt will just hang there from the other pulleys. Then you will install it over the new tensioner when completed

      @zachf5195 3 роки тому

      @@tonycervantes4816 I don't believe so. It's pretty easy to re-route the belt if it does come off. But I don't think you will have to worry about it.

    My pulley doesn't move freely just going to do the pulley exchange instead of the whole assembly.

      @Zach F lol I'm stuck trying to get the belt on. I got the tensioner in place, but getting the belt on and holding the tension open is not easy. Did you put the belt on the tensioner before or after installing it? Done people said to skip it over the water pump pulley since it's smooth.
