We also have a significant amount of Lithuanians, Ukrainians, Bulgarians, even some Bosnians, Croatians, Serbs and Albanians to which LOT also serves as one of several feeder flights to cities in other Eastern European countries.
I flew with LOT last spring to and from Warsaw, first time after five years, in those five years the quality of service and crew's professionalism improved DRAMATICALLY! Now it is as good as in any other reputable European airlines, it is still nowhere near Singapore or Emirates but at least as good as in Air France, British Airways or Alitalia. And since they are the only airline flying to and from Poland, nonstop it is definitely the best option to travel
LOT provides an even better option, if you are on your way from the US to other European cities, through Warsaw. A round trip through Warsaw is even cheaper than a flight to Warsaw and back only. LOT is very aggressive in a competition for international travelers.
Business Class and Premium Economy have both checked in full. Not only on LOT Polish Airlines, but American Airlines, United Airlines and almost all foreign airlines. Pass riders, coach/business class ZED riders, jumpseaters, and even a revenue customer can't get an upgrade anymore because first, business, premium economy, economy plus, and preferred economy sections have checked in full on any airline, not just LOT Polish Airlines.
I wonder why LOT did not fly a more northerly polar route to the top of Greenland and down....their breakfast was really neat, better than what I have had on transatlantic flights....thanks!!!!
LOT has announced even further expansion in budapest, there was press conference and apparently they want to use their budapest hub for North America and Asia. Yesterday on Wikipedia there was sofia, Belgrade, Prague and seoul stating will start from 1sept. However only prague is left and rest disappeared. Think budapest will be getting more long haul routes from LOT.
The ilyushin il 62s yea along with yak 40s, Antonovs and tupolevs. As did just about every flag carrier in the bloc. Unfortunately many corners were cut with Maintenence which led to several crashes like with interflug (1972) and this airline had two big ones in 1980 and 1987. Once the Berlin Wall fell and the Cold War ended, these countries adopted western made planes (Boeing, airbus). So I guess you can say the west won the Cold War in regards to passenger planes.
You seem to get better catering flying to Poland, as opposed to when you fly back to Chicago. Seems like the Catering standard is better for economy passengers in the US than it is in Poland.
you cannot get the comfort and pleasure of business class, because you will be kicked out of it. you will fly economy class, paying for business - and no apologies! Terrible service and lack of quality accident investigation! if you want to get rudeness for your money - fly LOT

Recently I had fly from Chicago to Warsaw. On the beginning my journey to Warsaw I ask fly attendant to order some drink which I will to pay for this . His answer was very funny " beer is for free ". I order gin and tonic which I"ll want pay for this .He never deliver my gin . Unfortunately I'm very disappointed with SUCH GREAT SERVICE provide by LOT POLISH Airlines . Hmmm my advise avoid this airline. if you looking for better service try another airlines with better skills fly attended .Don't wast your time and money for stupid answer
