Thank you for the valuable info. I appreciate your style, the pace you maintain, and your focus on the actual instructions. Liked & subscribed. I cannot find the answer anywhere, and hopefully, you have a solution. How does one adjust the spine size of the book cover? I've initially set it up for 93 pages, but the interior of my book has gone up to 105 pages. I don't know how to change or increase the number of pages that will go inside the book cover. In the end, I might have to create two images like you have and take it from there. If you know the answer, please share. Thank you.
I'd suggest using a combination of the calculator tool inside Amazon KDP and then using those dimesions with Canva to recreate your cover to accomodate the extra pages.
signed up with Bookbolt, stuck on downloading interior and cover...? With zip file...? Can't move forward. Do you have an instructional video on this? Or, can I pay you for an hour or two to coach me on this? Thanks. Lew
Hi Lew. Really sorry to hear this. I'm sure I can help you out. I can't provide a contact address on my comments here because I'd get hammered with questions but perhaps reach out to me via LinkedIn and send me a message and i'll see if I can help you. Regards, Romney
Thank you. So, will KDP add the barcode to the book?
Yes they will. Just ensure you leave a small gap to the bottom right had side of the back cover for the barcode to be added.
I was trying to convert a paperback book to a hardcover and the pink area of the bookbolt template confused me.
The template says "your background artwork must fill the red area"
But it also says the black line "is where your book will be cut to produce the final trim size"
So, do I resize my cover art to fill in the red area or not? 🤨
Great tutorial. How do i add the bar code?
The barcode is added automatically by Amazon or IngramSpark, whoever you choose to use. You do not need to purchasea a barcode.
Do you think a bookbolt PDF would work for Ingramspark?
If its a book cover formatted for paperback then yes! Hardback covers are hit and miss. If you are referring to a manuscript, you need to ensure it would pass the content integrity guidelines of Ingram. Google that and it will provide you with what kinds of books they permit and what they don't.
I’m new to KDP and just learned of their new AI rules. Are the pixabay photos through book bolt considered AI use. Their explanation doesn’t seem clear to me.
Hi jay, I personally don'y use AI for illustrations or images. I'm staying clear because of ongoing updates to the KDP policies.
Just what i am looking for i think, thx for this as a newbie im a bit lost about covers.
My pleasure.
At about 9.44 you mention leaving a gap for an "isbn" number, what is that ? and do you have to leave a gap on bottom right of back cover for this?
Meaning, leave a space to the bottom right of your back cover because KDP or Ingram will place your ISBN barcode there.
