@@avan5140 Yeah but since when do halls of fame matter as much as the true sound of music? (Clue: I'm not referring to the musicals with Julie Andrews or Mary Martin.) Popularity vs beauty. Well promoted or well composed. Catchy or soulful. Quantity vs quality. Expedience or thoughtfulness. Who listens to a song because it's at the top of the charts? If you do then you're listening to commercial radio or that latest promoter of artless trash, satellite radio. Listen to what YOU like. Enjoy music as a pure form of art. they're very popular but not instantly recognizable in this generation. everyone knows who the beatles are, but people might not instantly recognize the name "electric light orchestra" they're still amazing though.
the studio time and effort must have been massive, I cant even imagine especially back then when it was all tape and much more laborious and time-consuming with no autotune or pro-tools, each take had to be perfect, every note had to be perfect or had to be done again. And ..... Here we have another one. 😖 Stop it already with the very false statement. Under-rated?? 😅 Hell, NO!! What an incredibly cringe, ignorant assumption to make on an amazingly incredible band that's a very hugely world-wide very successful band. It's so ridiculous to see some very false comments that most are clearly SO embarrassing to still see, that the very uneducated people who do not even know, whatsoever, at all, how very incredible they obviously were. Educate yourself and please get the facts straight before posting false info.
I never understood why they don't get a lot of recognition. they are so talented and even futuristic. their album time I swear could have won a Grammy. a lot of solid songs on there, I recommend, check it out
Grammy are for special little snowflakes. these guys deserve way better than a stupid Grammy. Nobel peace prize maybe. hell Dylan got one. that's a good prize.✌💗❣💜☮
There was/is a bias against “prog” bands. Some of ELOs instrumentals and naturally their string section got them labeled by some as prog. Sociopaths rise to the top in media/criticism and apparently sociopaths do not care for ELO.
You should see him in concert. I went last year at the Tacoma Dome and it was my first ever concert and it was the best fucking concerts I have ever been to. Laser lights and all. It was amazing
Nothing comes close to this level of song writing, arrangement and uniqueness today. Even as a 4 year old my ears knew this was something special all those years ago on radio in the 70s when I first heard it...
This was the first record I ever bought way back in 1976. I was 12 years old, and bought it with money I got for my Birthday. And I`ve been a life long fan ever since. ♥
Ditto Also the first record I bought as a 12 year old as well back in 1976 it was released in Nov with my Birthday being in Oct so possibly also with money from my Birthday.
Was not a big fan back then-my X was, she was from Europe. The other day I saw the Wibley stadium live concert in HD and in surround sound and wow. It blew me away. I'm a fan now, that's why I'm here remembering. I guess my X was right about one thing.

Mister Lynne, as I read, once said that he wanted to continue where the Beatles finished. Well, and I say this as a Beatles-fan, he did much more than this! So thankful for his music!
Underrated? With the succes they had? One of the Beatless once said they would have evolved into something like ELO. Jeff Lynne also worked with George Harris, Roy Orbinson, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty so I wouldn’t call them underrated. Maybe their music was so special not everyone understands it or knows it but they sold millions of records and are an example for many artists.
Thanks to the genius Jeff Lynne (ELO) for making this fantastic music that brings people together and makes them forget about the difficult moments in their lives.
This is exactly why the "ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA"-ELO stand alone as one of ROCK AND ROLL'S greatest bands ever...They have their own signature sound that may often be imitated but never duplicsted 👏👏👏
I must confess that this song is and has always been my most treasured E.L.O. song...and more than that, it has been and still is my most treasured song of all songs. I have known this song since it was released on vinyl back in the late 70's. Nothing comes near it. Thankyou Jeff, Kelly, Bev, Richard and all the other band members that brought this song to life...

His voice is one of the most pure, natural and raw I’ve ever heard. As a kid, I saw him in Travelling Willburys and, dumb kid, no clue who he was...lol. He’s not Dylan but he sings real. I found him by chance like 15 years later. Man, the Willbury guys we’re right...guys special. I love this. Ty.

Fantastic song by the best band ELO with their very unique sound and orchestration. The master of symphonic Rock.
❤❤❤
Jeff Lynne is an absolute musical genius! LOVE ELO ❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏
Most underrated band of all time. My kids are all in their 20s and have never heard of them. My fault. Amazing charismatic music.
Aun estas a tiempo de enseñarle esta musica a tu hijo 😄
I love elo and I'm 33
Seguro que tus hijos escuchan reggaeton.
Be good to plsy a lot the 70s to them MOST PEOPLE REALIZE THIS NOW or otherwise they will have missed out👌💓🤩
And .....
Here we have another one. 😖
Stop it already with the very false statement. Under-rated?? 😅
Hell, NO!!
It's our little secret. sshh
ELO NOW IN THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME 2017 !
The Grammys are retarded. ..I mean Kanye West has won like 50 of them.
There was/is a bias against “prog” bands. Some of ELOs instrumentals and naturally their string section got them labeled by some as prog. Sociopaths rise to the top in media/criticism and apparently sociopaths do not care for ELO.
Jeff Lynne is one if those music genius that I've recently discovered and it's great
Jeff Lynne is a musical Genius. The more you will discover the more you will appreciate his greatness.
You should see him in concert. I went last year at the Tacoma Dome and it was my first ever concert and it was the best fucking concerts I have ever been to. Laser lights and all. It was amazing
@Paul Baker Very low key guy.
@Paul Baker.....and still alive too.
That just hapened to me with Supertramp and Roger Hodgson
Nothing comes close to this level of song writing, arrangement and uniqueness today. Even as a 4 year old my ears knew this was something special all those years ago on radio in the 70s when I first heard it...
Very true. Jeff Lynne and ELO are brilliant beyond words, maybe brilliant beyond this world. Every note, every sound, every lyric is a masterpiece.
repeti o elo do segredo
Definitely here, it’s exactly as fantastic as I remember.
ELO make my day better.
No human can offer a greater gift than that of making another's day better.
+GayorgVonTrapp Such a nice comment. :)
+GayorgVonTrapp true
+arto koivunen
Always
+arto koivunen mine too
This was the first record I ever bought way back in 1976.
Same as me,lol
Wow i wanted it
Was not a big fan back then-my X was, she was from Europe. The other day I saw the Wibley stadium live concert in HD and in surround sound and wow. It blew me away. I'm a fan now, that's why I'm here remembering. I guess my X was right about one thing.
Wendy Bee I’m 11 and liked it when 10...
I was 12 years old in 1976 waiting to hear this song on the radio each day when it came out! What joy then and now in 2021 !
Yeah, we're the same age. How lucky we were to be born when we were! I feel sorry for today's youth. They have nothing.
I'm same age. Brilliant band!!!
Michael, Brian, and Lucy! we are like fine wine! Christmas morning with the Suprise of opening my ELO album and playing it all day! team 1964! the best music, the best of humanity!!
@@Pontiacman1964 Yeah probably today's music lacks of creativity, but young people who enjoys these kind of music has better access to it than in the past, due to digital content all over the web such as UA-cam. by the way I'm 15 years old :)
@@BobbyLouxMusic yessir!😂
Mister Lynne, as I read, once said that he wanted to continue where the Beatles finished. Well, and I say this as a Beatles-fan, he did much more than this! So thankful for his music!
We need more music and artists like this today this is what makes life worth living
The violin intro is the best. Love this song, and the undulating lyrics. I love ELO! Classic!
...brilliant
Love your description of 'undulating lyrics!'
Most Underrated Band in the History of music
Hard to say underrated when in R&R Hall of Fame lol
Hyperbole 101.
i agree
Love arthur lee
Louis clark the orchestral genius was my flute teacher, no kidding. Blue Coats Co of E school coventry he was amazing got me through grade 8
We had great music growing up.
Yes
Hello Teresa , how are you doing ?

The ELO channel is the best to listen to fantastic music on UA-cam. Long live Jeff Lynne's ELO!
This song was a mind blowing experience always! Just love it!!
Elo had some great music
Thanks to the genius Jeff Lynne (ELO) for making this fantastic music that brings people together and makes them forget about the difficult moments in their lives.
THIS IS REAL MUSIC.
CLASSIC FOREVER.
E.L.O.
ELO FOREVER. Thank you for posting.
I can listen to ELO for a billion times and never get tired of them
Thank you for great music and precious memories. 💡👍🥂
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SONG.
This is exactly why the "ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA"-ELO stand alone as one of ROCK AND ROLL'S greatest bands ever...They have their own signature sound that may often be imitated but never duplicsted 👏👏👏
Absolutely!💯❤👍
The very best ever musically!!!
Jeff Lynne(ELO) the best overall musician ever and a freaking good producer, singer and songwriter.
ELO had/has so very many really great songs! Teen of the 70s. ❤
2:47 the strings!!!! Just Wow!!!! ❤
I love how just listening to ELO can make you feel so much better!
Brilliant music we need more especially now 2024
Another genius song!!
Jeff Lynne is a genius.
no doubt......
Apart from Mr Blue Sky this my favourite ELO track. Blew me away first time I heard it when I was 13.
This was "our song"! Whenever I hear this, I think of my love I shared with Chris A. My first love who introduced me to the music of ELO. Fond memories Chris.❤ Hope you are still listening to their music in heaven now. 🎶🎵
I miss you and our friendship.
Hello Gorgeous, how are you doing?
For me one of the most iconic songs of all time. Thanks To Jeff and the band.
I’m slowly becoming obsessed with ELO, can’t stop singing there songs during the day night, and when I’m trying to sleep there running threw my mind……Helpppp meeeee 🤪
Me too i thinks its because the music sound s real you can hear the instruments, you can hear the lyrics. the songs have a message its as good as it gets
Always happy to hear it and never forgotten. Thank you, my youth was awesome with you and that continues to be the case today at 61 years old. I love you 🤘🏻🤠💙💙💙♥️♥️♥️🇩🇪🇺🇸
My all time favorite group, what a perfect compilation on instruments.
Who’s listening and loving these guys in 2021 🥰
I certainly am!
Hallo from germany, I do !!!!!!!
Jeff Lynne, the most underrated songwriter ever!
A KID GROWING UP DURING THE SUPER 70'S, AND I WAS A FAN OF ELO SINCE THEN. WHEN THEY CAME TO MY HOMETOWN, MY SISTER SAW THEM AND MET JEFF, BEV, HUGH , AND RICHARD. SUPER 70'S FOREVER. CLASS OF ROCKIN 84 HERE. ROCK ON SM!!!!.
Well what can i say if I still listening such a beautiful
My favorite Band, Jeff Lynne's voice is still as clear as when he started ELO love him. x
Because he didn't push his voice 👌😎☺️
His voice is one of the most pure, natural and raw I’ve ever heard. As a kid, I saw him in Travelling Willburys and, dumb kid, no clue who he was...lol. He’s not Dylan but he sings real. I found him by chance like 15 years later. Man, the Willbury guys we’re right...guys special. I love this. Ty.
ELO is also my favorite band of all time. Jeff Lynne is a treasure.

Music does not get better than this. Masterpiece!
