You guys got me right in the feels without meaning to. My dad, rest his soul, was a lifelong musician who played trombone in many a Big Band and jazz band (including a short stint with the Tommy Dorset band eons ago). We used to go to the Jacksonville Jazz Festival every year, and we often went on daddy/daughter dates to jazz or big band concerts. For my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary, our whole immediate family went on a cruise to Alaska, and on that ship was this amazing jazz band. My dad, my brother, and I tried to go listen to them every time they played. One of the guys was an older man, very close to my dad's age, who recognized that we were a family of musicians and jazz aficionados (except for my mom who hates jazz...lol), and he and my dad hung out together quite a bit on the ship. My dad's health went downhill shortly after that cruise, and he passed in 2016. I think that was the last jazz band experience we had together. So when you showed a bit of the jazz band on this video...yep...got me right in the feels. Beautiful memories of my dad and the fantastic trip our family took. Thanks for taking me back there!

The majestic of the seas was the same way. Only had plugs on my side. My wife had none lol. I was so overwhelmed when we went on the oasis. We might do that class again one day but idk. I think that there is a thing called to many people. Lol.

What a cool dining experience. I would love to sail on either this ship, or one of the sister ships. I'm new to crusing, so I'm into trying all the brands before I find my favorite. But would love to sail on a royal carribean ship. Would definitely love to try out coco cay. Have fun you guys can't wait to see the rest of the series.

As of right now, they said they aren't allowed to hold "gatherings" so I believe the deck party was done away with, but I'm sure it'll be back in the future!! :P

Symphony of the Seas… when you want to holiday inside a mall because you won't be connecting with the sea! Jay, don't forget that the spa/fitness centre showers are much taller and wider than inside your stateroom. If you are in Miami and go to South Beach, avoid Ocean Drive which is the tourist armpit of SoBe, instead, go to the Lincoln Road promenade between Washington Avenue and Alton Road which is the true heart of South Beach! Your pronunciation is very close for Meraviglia! May-rah-vee-lee-ah, roll the R! May-rah, not Mer-ah! The E in Italian is pronounced ay! Macaron rhymes with bone! Thank you for bringing us along.
We've got a stabilizing gimbal for the phone when we do livestreams, which the one we use is conveniently in our Amazon store, ha ha... it's the Zhiyun Smooth X which only a two-axis but it does a heck of a lot better than trying to video without one!! :P www.parodeejay.com/amazon

we dressed up (partner wore a purple wig and costume, the other 3 had their own strangeness) when we went on the symphony in February 2020, the mad hatter was very attentive (and most excellent). it was magical and the best experience at a "value added" place we have had
It was so loud there with the band playing, it made recording much of anything impossible in that moment, ha ha... then my brain never thought to go back and talk about the pizza!! :P #EditingProblems ~Jay
The Oasis class at full capacity is a COMPLETELY different experience with crowds, lines, and hard-to-get reservations, so I'm glad you got to experience it during the "Royal Comeback". There is a neat scavenger type thing to do on Allure that I'll tell you about on FB. 👍🏻
Have done 3 oasis class at capacity and never experienced this. Au contraire, was pleased at how there could be that many people on board when there were so few lines. Never had an issue with reservations.
@@kated2847 We were on Allure at full capacity in 2019. There were lines just to get to the hostess stand to check in for anytime dining. And if we didn't get in line for shows an hour before, we were relegated to bad seats. All of our specialty dining reservations were very late, too. So many people! I'm glad your experience was different! 👍🏻
We were on Oasis in early 2020 right before everything closed down. It was wonderful to experience this ship for the shows, Broadway and Central Park but was ultimately entirely too big for me. I never actually felt like I was on a ship😊
I will experience the Oasis in January. I enjoy a midsize ship. But my friends love this size ship, so I’ll have to sail her for myself. I do expect it to be too big as I like to see the ocean views a lot.
That evening sailaway was gorgeous. I would actually prefer that - it’s cooler and beautiful. No sailaway party is sad. It’s one of those really fun first day traditions. Do you think it will come back on RCL?
Love the video!!! Who am I kidding. I love ALL your videos. Looking at the SOTS and didn’t realize the inside cabins didn’t have the virtual balcony. That is disappointing. Makes it a hard sell for family trips for those that may require a more budget friendly cabin the selling point was the virtual cabin on the newer RCCL ships. 🙁
QUESTION is it possible to do the muster drill - the app part - while waiting in line to board? My muster in December will be at Cafe Promenade. Would be nice to do the app part in line and check in to finish the minute we board. Any idea whether that would be possible?
We did our Muster right before we got on the ship on the Freedom of the Seas in August. So sometimes they do it, but it is crew intensive… so probably not possible with large ships.
Those cantilever hot tubs just outside the solarium are my absolute faves. I was swapped from Allure to Wonder in July - so that is my only boooo... haha. They no longer have that on this ship, since it was made for the Asian market. :(
Good morning! This ship seems a bit impersonal with the size. The largest ship I sailed is Horizon. I sail Oasis in January. I’m so looking forward to the Pride next month. What do you think of this size ship? I think I like a traditional lido deck. I enjoyed the Wonderland experience with coffee this morning.☺️

That's the number one complaint about those, I'm sure. Most times, it's not bad, but occasionally the band will kick up (or in pre-COVID times there would be promenade parties) and you'll have a few hours of loud music poking you in the ears up there, ha ha... :P
We were definitely full afterwards, but I think it ended up being 5 or 6 small appetizers, then a normal-sized entrée and dessert. Super cool experience, but I think it's a "one-and-done" for us at $60 per person, ha ha... glad we did it, but I don't know that we need to do it again!! :P

You were just on a "Back-to-back" Alaskan Cruise and now you're sailing with Royal Caribbean out of Miami. Question: Do your "Sea Legs" ever get confused with your "Land Legs"? We were on that same ship the week before. I loved the shower, the best of all the cruising showers so far. Park Cafe was my Jam! Went there everyday.

Fun checking out the mega ships on your videos. We cruise Princess as we like a quieter environment but looks like fun!

Some inside cabins do and some do not. You would have to specifically book a inside cabin with virtual balcony.

If you're able to join the ship's wi-fi from somewhere in the terminal, I assume that should work. Never thought about being that prepared, ha ha!! :P

Inside cabins and my Claustrophobia just don't get along. Hope you enjoy! How noisy do you think the rooms overlooking the promenade are?
