Today I was looking for evolution of men's suits and reached this channel and after this video , subscribed it coz I accidentally got what I was looking for.
Happy to be useful!
Ridiculously good video. Accurate summation of the past, notation of the present and perspective on the future.
I wanted a video like this to watch while high. Thank you
I like your content ❤
I love finding a random video that I find interesting
Thanks to your videos, I've become interested in Lady White Co and Outlier but I've also seen good reviews for Asket and Unbound Merino. Would love to hear your thoughts
Could check them out! We're actually working on our own t-shirt right now, not sure if you saw the product update.
Yeah, a shirt created by a shirt sommelier sounds promising. Hope that more pastel colors will be available.
@@MeritStoreOfficial Great vid. My only issue is at 2:19, the three images show an evolution more than what a normal person is wearing at the beginning of the 1700s; Jacobean, Shakespeare-esque outfit and facial hair on the far left? Definitely not. Unless you meant 1600s.
'90s baggy suits that looked bad'
Ah the 90s, where everyone wore pastel and color-vomit clothing... man I miss the 90s.
That ain't nothing, 1890s or the "Gay Nineties" had far better fashion sense
Restrictive? Jeans are restrictive.. 👀 Just not made to wash everyday as jeans. In this sense yes, I agree restrictive. Maybe a bad suit is restrictive as well.
This is a great video! Informative and entertaining, I’m glad I subbed to you channel. I’ll def be checking out your other vids!
Ah! Thanks so much.
Nice video., i enjoyed it
for someone who just owns 1 suit, you sure did one hell of a good job researching its history. i own 9 suits and i don't think i could top this.
Lol im actually a monarchist so i was think you were going to say monarchies are pretty dope
The fact that the suit disappears from workplace is actually a correction of the fact that it was never designed for such purpose in the first place. Originally the rich wore it while performing casual activities like afternoon horse rides. It's not comfortable to wear, you can't wash it etc. Even at weddings most men can't wait until they can ditch their ties and constrictive jackets. Save for minor style changes it became frozen in time and stopped evolving towards a more practical alternative that you could (at least in theory) wear more often. I'm sure it would be possible to design something more practical that still looks formal.
A suit is actually a costume designed to show chastity to the money system .
A collar ... like a dog clar... you are lead by showing this you wear a tie..a leash..
To show you are tied in to symbolic nature if the suit.. to suit.
To show somehow you are important..
Infact- no ,you are showing your affinity to the system which has control of you.
Who told you the suit did not evolved? The one made from Polyester are durable as hell! You didn't even need to iron it because the fabrics never get any wrinkle and always maintain it's shape, plus this material are washing machine safe
@@yardleylfcthe only thing i associate that with a necktie, or in japan. I'm not being forced wearing a suit, i can mix and match to my heart content making it's mine, it changed my life, I've got nicer environment and nicer folks and actually helped me in every aspect
So when the world goes to work, they wear what the British wore
From the vid I think we share the same hate for suits
Suits aren't costume. They have practical origins and are practical garments. Suits aren't for the rich. They were designed and used by the military originally. If fashion hadn't got ahold of it and taken its practicality out, we'd still be wearing them on the battlefield like they used to.
I liked the video, in respect for thy work. Because there is nothing that disgust me more, in this planet, than this obsession that people have for the "dressing code"!
Answer: England
