I cried so hard when I first listened to this song. Even now I cry so hard. This whole song is what I need to hear but sometimes don't want to. "How did we get here? We're cast away on a lonely shore. I can see In your eyes dear, Its hard to take for a moment more." This is one of the many parts in this song that just speaks directly to me. When I hear this I feel that God is telling me that He knows my pain. That He knows my suffering. This is SUCH a great reminder that He knows what I am going through.

Yes I am just leaving a domestic abusive situation my self. I was with my husband 24 years. I am heart brocken. He has left myself and my family horrible text messages. I had the great I idea of making my girlfriend a ring for Christmas instead of buying one to symbolize how much she meant to me. Right before I was able to finish it though, she broke up with me. I really lost all hope for Christmas and was very upset because I even ditched God for her. I couldn’t stand myself because I felt that I turned everyone away for this one girl in my life. I was so sorry and asked God to come back into my life but it didn’t feel like he was coming back. I kept on holding onto things that reminded me of her like jewelry and music. God came to me and finally told me that if I want him to move in my life I have to let go of the past because if I don’t I’m living in the past which leaves no room for God to work. He brought me to this song and I listened to it on the start of a new decade 2020 and what better way to say goodbye to the past and my recent heartbreak. Thank You Jesus ✝️

Sometime later, this man phoned me and asked if he could attend church with me. Shortly after he began going to church with me, he got saved. In fact, I married this man and we will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in June 😊. God is so awesome! So, be encouraged, God has in mind just the right woman for you. Yes Lord!!!!! This just resounds with my heart. I left IV drug use a few months ago and there is this strong temptation to live in the past. To be defined by what has happened. To mourn, to not let go. But that is not what Christ has in store! New beginings baby! New beginings! He makes all things new! No more living in the past. This song really hit me earlier today. I've been struggling with anger issues, setting unrealistic expectations for myself to live the 'perfect Christian life', and even a porn addiction for years. I attended my church's Celebrate Recovery program for the first time today, and it felt like my eyes were really opened for the first time. I realized I was trying to fight these things on my own instead of asking God to help me, and that I need to admit my own limits and give it all to Him. And as I was driving home, this song came on the radio. Hopefully, after all this time, I'll be able to burn these ships in my life and move towards the future God has planned for me. If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. Although it is incredibly painful to give up what he is asking me, i have to believe Jesus is worth it. He can restore in time what i gave up.

This song has such a special place in my heart ❤. I don't even know how to put into words how I was feeling the first time I heard this song, except my heart was happy and dad at the same time. The Lord has told me that a specific season in my life was over once and for all. I was living in sin that was so hard to walk away from, because I had to leave someone that I loved very much behind. I was speaking to one of the sisters at my church about the battles in her life at the moment, as we left the alter, the Lord spoke to me that my the season was over and that I was only in it as long as I was to help the sister I just spoke with and another. I know that it was the Lord's will, but to hear him say "it is finished" had me in awe. On the way home in our church van, I couldn't stop crying I was so overwhelmed of how clearly the Lord spoke to me. I was embarrassed because there were others around me, and I just couldn't stop crying. All of a sudden my ears tuned into the radio, and every word spoke to me as if the Lord hand picked this song. When I heard "don't you look back" I went from sadness, to bring empowered and encouraged. Recently my bishop preached a message and mentioned Cortez and the burning of the ship's and I just shouted "yeeees" as I thought about this song and how much it still speaks to me every time I hear it. When I first hired this song I was with my friend and she asked if I hired this song and I said yes and ask her if it was a Christian song and she said it was and I was like I hear this song ever night because I have a radio that plays this song ever night and it is one of my favorites the first ever time I heard it I was about to cry, because it remided me of people that have past away in my family. Now that I heard it again not on my radio it is one of my favorite songs in the world. It makes me want to play it again and again some times when I am made I listen to this song and I realize that there is no reason to be make right at that second and I said god is with me and that is what matters to me when I am mad. So remember that god is with you ever step of your life, even if you are mad, sad, happy, and disappointed. When I was just a little kid I was thinking that god was the best thing then when I got older I was asking to my self is god real, and I said he has to be. Then right now I am saying god is real. It can be a relationship needs to end. I left a abusive relationship. This song was playing when myself my mother and brother were in the car. I was so scared. My Brother said listen to the words Natalie . I started crying so much. I had been in the relationship 24 years. Jesus rescued me. Yes it’s the truth. But even then I did not listen. I kept going back. They divorced me a year later even when I was still in the relationship out of the blue. I still went back because I thought it was what God wanted me to do. I could not figure out why God just did not mend it. I was being abused the whole time through everything. God sometimes let’s you do what you want for learning tBut you keep getting hurt because nothing works. Finally after going back 2 months ago I was like now I see God does not want me with this person right now for reasons. Let it go. So I played this song again and thought to my self this was true. Burn the ships cut the ties and don’t look back. Let go of fear God is working out my life. Things happen for a reason. Now I can step into a new day. Thank you my lord and savior for everything that has happened in my life and it might be hard but I’m in your arms now. Amen! God bless ! Always pray never give up hope ,Trust in Jesus!
