Considerable tagged severe thunderstorm slams Charlotte - 5-8-2024

On May 8, 2024, a line of severe thunderstorms developed in the early afternoon hours. These storms grew in strength enough to be tagged as Considerable by the National Weather Service. Considerable is the tag between a regular warning and a Destructive warning. Before hitting Charlotte NC, this storm hit neighboring Gaston County very hard, causing widespread tree damage due to 80MPH winds and two confirmed EF1 tornadoes. This supercell thunderstorm had an amazing "mothership appearance! Uptown Charlotte (this location of filming) was spared from the worst of it, though there were still a lot of trees and downed power lines, causing outages that lasted for over a day.
