This piece is much simpler than it seems. The upward runs are all based on e-flat major and b-flat major arpeggios - they all fall under the hands quite easily. The left hand is pretty much the same throughout the entire piece. Don't be afraid to try it!
YEAH, I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE HARDER THAN IT LOOKS. WELL IT DOESNT LOOK REAL HARD TO PLAY. EASIER THAN HUNGARIAN RHAPSODY NO 2 IN THE HARD VERSION AND I ONLY PLAY ONE PAGE OF THAT OK HA HA. I NEED TO SET UP MY NEW BIG PRINTER SO I CAN PRINT THIS MUSIC OUT.
what i love about this piece is that there are two different octaves in which the lead melody is heard. it is somewhat like a man and a woman singing to each other and expressing their love with the romantic melody.
I am picking up my long awaited completion of this piece. For me ,this is a bucket list. I could still play some parts but to play in its entirety is my ardent wish.
@@miriamerice9140 GOOD LUCK. I LL NEED SOME LUCK TOO IF I EVER GET MY PRINTER SET UP AND PRINT OUT THIS GREAT MUSIC. THE LADY WHO COMPOSED THIS WAS A VERY CLEVER LADY.
This is played in Scene 9 of Brecht/Weill's Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny on a rinkytink piano at the bar at the Rich Man's Hotel. One of his fellow lumberjacks from Alaska remarks "This is eternal art," as Jimmy Mahoney becomes increasingly restless at the peace and quiet.

It’s only a little more than an octave, but I also have large hands that can reach the inner notes of that chord comfortably

why do you play the end (the last 8 bars) much faster then the all before ?
a change of tempo is not indicated in the score as far as I see.
