The ai is decent at not trading unreasonably, with that being said, they love prospects, and (in my opinion) there are not enough teams with the "win now" mindset. Also the ai does not have an untouchable list. Given enough value, you can get anyone. There are also a few teams with negative budgets (by a longshot) like the Dodgers and Mets. I will say that I always play with ignore budgets on blc in previous years it made trading past the first year hard. Though that setting, to my knowledge, does not effect the trade logic in terms of value, only allows for over budget teams to gain more payroll in trades. The ai also starts to devalue ppl over around 31. To the point where at 40 they are nearly worthless in trades. Though this may have been reworked this year with the trade update. In game play (season stats) are very highly valued. You could trade a 75 ovr who has a sub 1 era in 30 IP for almost any pitcher who had an era of 3.5 or more with the same ip.

Except Soto. You can trade for Soto with 2 C potential prospects about 85% of the time. Might have to throw in a B, but he’s insanely easy to trade for unless they have patched that
@@buiesportscards5122 They may have patched it. When testing this I grabbed the Os top players (Ced, Means, Hays) and tried to see if I could get the top player in each team. Soto, Trout, Judge and ppl like that I couldn't. But for 75% of the teams I could. Then on the ones like Soto I tried to use the top prospects (Adley and G-Rod) along with others and I couldn't. Maybe I just messed something up, but I think they fixed it.
Yo Kenny idk if anybody has commented about it yet but there’s a “Depth Chart” feature where you can see what your entire team looks like the current year you’re in and the next 5 years in the future. It shows you your cap situation over the next 5 years and what players will be on the team. You should try it out.

Hey Kenny, enjoying the series so far, I gotta few words of guidance tho:
1. Along with overall and potential, teams will be looking to trade guys that are on the last year of their deal, who they know they won’t re-sign. It’s better to trade an 85ovr player for prospects than to let him walk, even if it’s halfway into the season, so the CPU will do that.
2. The thing that explains what all the words mean, is the transaction handbook, under the 2nd tab at the top, then under “transactions” in that drop down.
3. If you go to your roster, and then press LT and RT, you can see rosters for other teams, and in the top right of the screen, it’ll show you if they’re rebuilding and will trade good players for prospects, or if they’re contending and will give YOU prospects for good players that you’re not gonna re-sign at the end of their contract.

the biggest thing i personally love to do for trades is moneyball strategy, trade players a year or 2 away from hitting free agency for players with 5+ years left and some room to grow. I like to think i can use players at their peak and then trade them off, tampa bay and cleveland style

Can you update us every episode or two on standings, look in to what’s going on around the league, and just give us an update around the franchise and this MLB world.

To rob home runs, you have to be running as you jump into the wall at the perfect time. The easiest way for me is to zig zag back and forth on my way to the wall until the ball is there and I can time it perfectly. Your momentum doesn’t matter you can jump whenever
MLB the show's trade value, according to devs, supposedly got redone this year so trades may seem weird but they say they take 3 years of player performance into trade value not 1 year. Makes it weird especially if you don't understand all of baseball finances but go for what the trade finder shows as a baseline

That TikTok is wrong Kenny, for a circle change, and all other pitches, you don’t have to wait for the animation to be done, although watching it helps. You wanna move your stick in the same speed that the animation shows. So when it says too fast it means you tracked with the stick too fast

Pro tip if you want to make yourself sound more baseball-y: instead of saying their average when talking about how a hitter is doing, look at & talk about their slash line (also called triple slash). The general benchmark for a good season is slashing 3/4/5 (.300 average, .400 on base, .500 slugging), but that isn’t universal now that league wide averages are down.

Realistically, the Brewers probably won't make that trade. But on the other hand the Brewers and fans love Nottingham!
I recommend trading for “solid” 3rd or 4th rotation guys with a few years of team control this year, to prepare for playoff pushes in future years, then when your team is ready, you are a piece away from a great team while your younger guys develop

Lol it sucks they can’t get the trade value right, I’ve literally deleted franchises before because I realized I made my team way too op through trades. I never traded for prospects though, I always traded my prospects for superstars. The jo adell trade isn’t fair or realistic but I think you should do it because it’s the most value for you and adell is awesome, plus at least he’s a prospect so it will be a little while until he’s really great anyway, although he will contribute right away.
As a twins fan, Polanco is probably not getting traded…honestly if we keep playing like how we are we might trade Correa, but that’s a long way away

Go crazy and trade for Soto. He’s ALWAYS super easy to trade for, for whatever reason. Is it realistic? Not at all. Does it make your series more exciting? Absolutely!
