When you want to be responsible and make your parents proud without them asking you, you feel proud and responsible yourself! I'm 13 next month and my parents are lovely but they don't understand that teenagers have mood swings. Me and my parent have had so many fights about me looking grumpy😂
SAME! My parents (mostly my mom)won't let me feel anything. If I'm sad, "you should be happy" if I'm happy, "why are you so happy all the time" if I get even the *slightest* bit annoyed they start coming at me "why are so mad all the time" "you need ro learn how to control your anger" It really makes me upset because *I'M HUMAN TOO!! I HAVE FEELINGS, AND THEY MATTER!!*
wow, you so nailed it. Especially number 5. It's weird I don't like being asked to do something but I'll do it when my parents aren't home or if they don't ask. It's definitely weird.
Here is the # 1 thing parents need to teach their teenagers: how to recognize the traits of type 1 sociopaths among them. Parents need to teach teenagers this to help prevent them from being used, abused, and confused! They may not know there are people camouflaged among them who have no conscience and who secretly want to hurt them. Parents put all their finances and blood, sweat and tears into raising their children, and all they need is one sociopath or type 1 sociopath to destroy their lives. Good to know the traits!
When my parents wanted to go somewhere and wanted me to come, if I say "I don't want to come." They will get mad for nothing. I am just too lazy to go somewhere. All I wanted to do is stay inside the house. Is that wrong??
I'm almost done being a teen and even though I'm moving into my house again in a month my parents still barge through my door without knocking, ask me amillion questions and get over excited when they see me driving. It's so annoying
This made me me smile, it's quite funny and some people are just taking it wayyy to seriously. Overall if your parents show they care, appreciate it! Some parents don't give a shit about their kids or don't even have parents
If a parent says "Where would you like to go?" They want to do something nice for you. It is going to cost them time and money and they have an emotional involvement in trying to make you happy. They would not do that for someone who was just a casual friend. Ask them where they want to go, and take them there, and pay for them. So when you as a teenager say 'I don't care' What it sounds like to the parent is F** your time - F** your money - F** your friendship - F** your emotional involvement. I have no interest in you or how you feel or what you want.' This is obviously not a good basis for a friendship. You only have to do this two or three times for the parent to feel sad and resentful and to respond in kind. They will say - usually internally - 'Let me know when you do need me - but don't make it too soon!' And remember, sometimes you will never have the chance to make up for rejecting your parents - they may be gone one way or another before you realize that they are the only people in the world who will ever truly love you and who would literally give their lives for you.
We might not have anything in mind, so we want them to choose what is best for them and us that is why they are our parents, they know more than we do and besides maybe what we have in mind is a place they do not like so it's much better if they choose.
When I was a teenager I never slept in nor did I eat a lot because I came from a poor family. I always had a neat and tidy (spartan) room. I had no text books, gadgets, tech stuff, or even a desk to do my homework. I never gave a shit about anything because I was naive and disconnected. I never knew anything about homosexuals, lesbians, or transgenders. But my sisters cried a lot and made a big deal about silly issues. It must be a girl thing. I had deadbeat (selfish) parents but I turned out okay as an adult. You said you make a big deal about small petty things, and yet, you don't care about anything. You are fortunate to have good parents and eat four meals a day.
in a different time, and they forget about it too... get it? thats why many teenagers and adults have problems maybe because the parents do not want to listen to them?
A majority of the time, parents would have had experienced what teens have. Parents don't listen to them because they already understand and have gone through that situation and help my giving them an option that lets them either avoid getting problem or solve it.
but they do not help they just complain and want them to behave like the best child ever, teens need to do stuff, not too crazy but have fun and be able to relax,
It's a different time, these days we deal with many problems that parents did not have during their time. They do not get this so they just ignore us and treat us like a bunch of spoilt kids going through s time they once experienced. Most times all we want is for them to support us but instead they judge us. Imagine a child feeling insecure due to people at school only to come home to parents making them feel useless. If you cannot hold and comfort us then why don't you just leave us alone with our phone and internet where we relate to so many people, and that makes us feel better. That's also why we love to hang out with our friends because they listen to us rather than judging us
Hi Meg, This is a really good video. You made it four years ago - so now you are 19. How about a follow up? Do you still feel the same about most of the stuff? Do you still understand how how you felt then? If you had a little sister would you still agree with it all - or would you say - you need to get up and clean your room? We would really like to hear your updates. Thanks again for a great video.
I agree with each and every thing in the video but these kind of thought is overcomed by the visualization of a overwhelmed energy that no matter what they are my parents.... And I've to adjust with them anyhow 😶
To all the adults... we are petty as fuck, that's not gonna change till we mature. Let us be petty, petty (for me when I'm upset)= you wont understand my opinion because frankly I can't explain it!
About only one of these things are true for me, sleep. The rest aren't,I don't eat much really, I don't "freak out" over little things or anything really. but I suppose this is based off mostly you. Everyone's different. So okay.
The thing that parents don't understand is when do thing that are weird and different with our friends - pretty much every teen is wacky and silly with their friends. My mum thought it was weird that my friend made toast in her bra and pants as a dare. And it was a weird thing to do but preteens especially just mess around and have fun. We don't need to be mature all day everyday.
