I have stalling and whining and battery light. Replaced the serpentine myself after it broke about a year ago now the alternator is acting up. Got my battery checked today and it’s reading good so now going to replace the alternator. The $2,000 Durango is still going strong

I got stuck in traffic on the freeway and when traffic cleared up i accelerated but my vehicle wouldnt pass 5mph, i got it towed home and tried to take a look at what the problem was but the key got stuck in the ignition, i barley managed to remove it after 2 weeks of it being stuck, but a day or two after getting it towed to my house the car wouldnt start up at all unless i use jumper cables but as soon as i remove the cables the vehicle dies,so right now the car doesnt start and if it does then it cant go faster than 3-5mph, any recommendation??

My alternator went out while driving, I replaced it and then it began making a grind noise, checked the belt, checked fuses. It turned on several times but didn't go three blocks til it died again. New battery as well and starter is just fine too. I ain't tryna take it to a mechanic yet before I can fix it myself. And won't turn on without a jump now.
Sounds like the alternator you bought was defective, did you take it back?
Try greasing up your idler pulley if its bad it will be hard to turn and put alot of stress on the altenator causing an early change of an alternator

Hey bro I got a whining noise coming from under the hood is it possible the alternator bearings are going bad?
Basically what happen is my timing belt had recently burst so I got it replaced with a new one but as I'm driving off my car makes a whining sound each time I accelerate.. what could be the issue?

My whine noise I didn’t think it was bad I though it was supercharger like making a joke out of it into my alternator gave up today 😂

What a about the Fuse?
When your interior lights dim when starting the engine with a new battery installed this is also a sign that your altimeter is going out to lunch as engine takes a bit to stare and the volt meter jumps to 14 to 15 and to keep the battery charged to full capacity . This also happens on a restart when you go somewhere and leave.
Symptoms of a bad alternator are not replacing before dead, so how long do thay last and why no information on longevity?

Hi, my battery measures 13.6-13.8V on the dashboard when driving. When turn of the engine, battery voltage drops to 12.2. After parking 1 day, battery is 11.8V.
There was a consumer during sleep mode. That is fixed, but battery still drops down to 11.8 after one day parking. Alternator is replaced one month ago.
What should I do?

You need a battery. Replace it and check for parasitic load.
I would listen to pollodustino start with a new battery and if the problem persists check for any draws in the system
Mechanic was changing ac hose and mistakenly touched the alternator and it sparked. The windows were slow, no ac blower working, door lock button not working but i could drive the car for some time. After few hours i tried to start the car and it ran for 2 miles, all the lights on dash board came up like abs, seat belt check light, then radio has gone down and finally car choked and i had to pull it to parking spot. After fee time i started it and drove for another 5 min and it stalled. What do you think is it the alternator or the alternator fuse or fusable link issue? Thank you

Your super charger won't make your dash lights come on, and it won't affect cranking or running voltage
I have a 2003 alero and my battery sensor keeps turning on and off I replaced the battery literally yesterday
What happened after
Mine makes a rattle noise when I turn on the A/C so I'm guessing mine is starting to go bad.

@@chriswagner2959 can’t tell if that was the issue, after alternator was fitted, EML came back on randomly a few weeks later to indicate an EGR issue after codes were scanned. Knocked the EGR a bit and light went out after reset, didn’t come back on for about a month. So weird

3. Electrical System: There could be a parasitic drain on the battery, meaning something in the electrical system is drawing power even when the car is turned off. This could be due to a malfunctioning component or accessory.

Hi so the other day my car wouldn’t start. I have no warning lights & my battery is fine. The tow truck guy tried jumping starting it, but it still wouldn’t start. All the lights were working fine though..there was a humming noise when I tried starting it. After they towed my car to my house, the car started up fine & it’s been starting ever since! Could this be an alternator issue or something else?

So my battery light came on the other day, then traction control and 3 other lights came on. Headlights started to dim. Coolant gauge went to the max and then minimum and kept going back and forth. Car stalled and wouldnt start for a day. Alternator or ECM?
So the whining isn’t bad but how much longer can I go with it? My work is in town where I live and won’t get paid for another 2 weeks
Nothing is popping up but I smacked it and the whining went away so I ruled out it’s the alternator

I have a noise that sounds like dry bearing noise to me. Also, the engine doesn't crank Everytime I turn the key to crank. This is a '02 tundra. Any ideas! I'm guessing multiple/separate issues
what about if the alternator is puting out too much voltage?
