@@kelsonl6084 She did it correctly, it's supposed to be like that. Yes, you can use shampoo and hair gel to get it out. I competed in middle and high school, and it never damaged our hair. She is obviously way better at it than we were!

hi! the purpose is for when your doing an under water routine your hair doesn’t fall out (and head piece) you get judged based off your hair if it’s not knoxed so yeah!

An athlete should never be judged on their hair. It has absolutely nothing to do with your strength or physical performance.
As a synchronized swimmer myself, it’s quite hard for the judges to judge your face when you have a full face of hair! It’s not necessarily judged based on your hair now because of the new rules, but I believe it hides the artistic ability of the swimmer, same as if you wear goggles when you swim. Hope this helps!

It’s for synchronized swimming. They put it in their hair to keep it perfectly in place and keep the hair piece in. It looks better that swim caps for judging.
So that stuff is supposed to save your hair from the water and getting in your face but yet it rips out so much of your hair lol. That really has to suck though. But it looked nice.

Hot water for about 5 minutes and then start combing it out! Also, why would you apply that stuff with your fingers?!?! Use a paint brush!!! Less messy that way!
Painful! It’s so hard to get rid all that gel out of your hair and I know this. Every time I used to wear a really tight bun and I had to put gel all over my hair that’s how my hair looks. To take all that stuff out of your hair is that you have to use hot water to get rid all of that junk.
My grand daughter quite doing artistic swimming because of that! It was actually painful for her to get that stuff out of her hair. She would cry. Not worth it for her.
