Anyone who uses duct tape on their engine is living in the past I had a friend who work with four other people building pro stock engines and they were having problems with bearing life and they found that it was the glue used on duct tape that was causing the premature bearing failure.
They are only on ethanol, not methanol, so fuel pump requirements aren't as insane as a methanol car, but I'm sure they have at least a 8 gpm pump, maybe 10, which is crazy level for electric pumps.

At that power level with methanol pretty much everything is cam or belt driven mechanical
Direct injection. No electric pump can handle that. Even diesels use a cam or gear driven fuel pump because they are direct injection
