  • Dental Veneers - What the heck are they? Lumineers, press on veneers, no prep veneers, and even bilveneers from brighter image lab.
    First off, welcome to the channel where we regularly discuss all things related to your smile!
    If that interests you, please consider subscribing.
    There's a lot of misunderstanding when it comes to veneers and what they are?
    It is no wonder that so many people are confused, with terms like lumineers, bilveneers, press on veneers, no-prep veneers
    I want to help clear the confusion.
    Simply put, a veneer is a thin piece of porcelain used to modify the visual surface of the tooth while recreating the natural look, strength and resilience.
    Veneers are a great solution for most issues with front teeth and can even correct tooth decay. Watch this video here to learn more about how veneers are a preferred option to treat front teeth.
    • Dentist says DO NOT CR...
    The term "cosmetic veneer" is used to describe a veneer that is purely used to correct the shape, shade, or spacing of the smile.
    Cosmetic Veneers are a nearly instant way to a beautiful smile, and this treatment is perfect for people not satisfied with their smile.
    Each veneer is custom made for each individual tooth.
    What makes Innovative Dental unique, is that the dentist creates the veneers in office utilizing the latest in 3D digital dentistry. This allows for an extremely predictable and controlled result that leads to great esthetics. This process bypasses a lab allowing us to fully transform a smile in one single visit.
    Veneers are a more permanent solution to teeth whitening!

    I think you should have added actual before and after smiles. also, you should have included the life of a veneer. do you have to shave down your own teeth, can you remove them if you choose to. that info would have been great.

      Galaxy_Kitty Cat that’s not true. I had braces for 26 months to correct my overbite and straighten multiple teeth, but two of my teeth are under sized which left gaps. I knew this going into braces, so I got Veneers afterwards. Had I not had the braces, veneers couldn’t go over those teeth though because they were so sideways before.

Am I still able to do so? I really want the no prep ones. Can you put those over fillings? Thanks! Love your channel by the way!

    • @InnovativeDentalofSpringfield
      @InnovativeDentalofSpringfield  6 років тому

      Thanks so much for watching. I would not recommend no prep veneers because of esthetics. Because they are so thin, they have to be opaque. They can be stained to look nicer but a veneer with a minimal prep allows for greater esthetics. A veneer can replace your fillings and it will hold up better than the fillings. Hope this helps. Wish you the best.

    • @InnovativeDentalofSpringfield
      @InnovativeDentalofSpringfield  6 років тому +1

      Hi Rienry. It really depends on too many factors to give you great advice online. I would prefer implants. Stay away from the stuff that you order online because you will have to take a great impression and this is far too difficult and you may just be covering up problems like half of their before and after photos. See a reputable dentist and they should be able to guide you on a much healthier path to a smile.

      Innovative Dental of Springfield I’m looking to get it done on one of my crooked teeth. Does it last along time? No dentist will give me a straight answer on that. Can I whiten my teeth before the bonding process?

    • @InnovativeDentalofSpringfield
      @InnovativeDentalofSpringfield  6 років тому

      You can definitely whiten before. Longevity has a lot to do with your bite and the size and location of the defect. It is difficult to guarantee the time frame due to this. A veneer bonds with much more strength and does not chip or stain. Cosmetic binding is good for simple fixes, but rarely looks great or last a long time especially if the the chip is large or the bite is very close to the defect. Hope this helps.

      Innovative Dental of Springfield A dentist suggested an labial Veneer on my crooked tooth bc the gap is wide. What’s the difference with that and bonding?

    Do veneers get tooth decay

    • @InnovativeDentalofSpringfield
      @InnovativeDentalofSpringfield  5 років тому

      Teeth that have veneers can still get tooth decay. It is less likely than teeth when they are done correctly. ;)

    I personally have both first premolar teeth as missing spaces; it's led to minor shifting; I now have small spaces in what is missing.
    When missing teeth, shift comes naturally, and since they're adult teeth, they've naturally positioned to help with the lack thereof.*
    I wouldn't be able to afford Invisalign, nor braces - I've already had them before; I would only need very minor straightening [but that's not an option for me financially].
    I have considered more certainly now, to place lumineers onto my smile.
    Since I do have missing first premolars on each side, yet small spaces -- Am not certain even a partial denture for one tooth could fit properly. Or don't think a dentist would recommend it.
    I'd opt in lumineers to make my peg lateral incisors (another minor shifted space) into a bigger normal size.
    And the canine teeth, into a fuller size to completely close the first premolars (if possible). And therefore completely close my upper jaw spaces.
    Am not sure if placing Lumineers, is the best long term option for medical reasons (though they're wonderful aesthetically) - I still do need to discuss it with an dentist, but thought to at minimal describe it here. And if possible, any feedback would be appreciated.
    **Should someone invest in Lumineers -- enlarge their canine teeth to fill in the missing small tooth space of a first premolar? The peg lateral incisors would also be in an enlarged shape, which may likely place a whole new makeover smile. Would be able to email, as need be.

    Side note lol, I was 15 when my braces were removed (currently 18+) -- Was told to place dental implants at a young age after my braces were removed. Completely terrible recommendation due to young age & jaw developing, plus had other dentists telling me not to do so, my parent & I didn't like the idea of such a surgical procedure either. Or how people do report bad odor or consistent maintenance when they have dental implants (which are issues I've never had before so wouldn't invest in implants - they're expensive too). Though I was once open to the idea, it's something I'd completely not allow myself to do. Genuinely believe cosmetic dentistry is what may close the small left spaces I have. Am simply hoping teeth won't shift anymore while having Lumineers on -- Or that my bite becomes impacted throughout the years. It's a wonderful option, but truly nothing is permanently guaranteed. People must always use common sense when it comes to their wellbeing and the advancements of dental care we have today.
