    Dealer wanted $400 to replace the heater control. Bought the part online for $142. Took less than 30 minutes to install thanks to your video. Without it, I would have been sunk. It's nice to have heat again. Thank you so much!

    Not looking forward to replacing the gauge cluster on a Buick Rainer....but your video may make the job easier. Thanks.

    Thank you for the video. Just replaced the 4 wheel drive switch. Super easy with your video, didn't have to spend time looking for the screws.

      @@YXEFlatl1ne The knob was broken and you couldn't use the switch. The new switch was very inexpensive.

    Thank you so much for your video! I like your calm logical approach to the repair. Your son also did a great job with the camera work.

    I dropped the screw in the lower panel as well and I was able to reach down and grab it without taking off the panel. Plus I recommend investing in a magnet wand.

    Ok..I'm just a little confused because the title of the video is for Instrument cluster removal why you are removing the radio and the heater controls, but didn’t remove the instrument cluster. Are you sure this the correct title and description.

      I think the 1 question that needs to be asked, is why didn't he unplug his battery before digging into the dash

      Check the light switch and see if it’s seated. Possibly may have been disconnected.

    It is my understanding that you fight hell and high water before disconnecting a Trailblazer battery do to HVAC actuator damage and other issues related to computer resets. I understand the desire to prevent possible shorts, but in this case isn't better on this vehicle to leave the battery connected or attach a low amp "saver solution" and be extra cautious? Just asking your opinion.

      I’ve never removed the battery or had a reason to disconnect on the trailblazer.

      It is literally the description of the video?
      "Removal of an instrument cluster for a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer which is the same for other years and similar procedure to the Chevrolet Envoy. When working on all electrical systems on any vehicle it's a good idea to disconnect the negative battery terminal before unplugging and plugging "
      Love your videos just was curious why you would recommend a procedure known to be problematic with out warning?
      Thanks for video though, it was helpful

    • @Rockcrusher1
      @Rockcrusher1  6 років тому

      Since all the connections are plugs it’s very likely you won’t short anything out. That said, it is a good idea to disconnect the negative battery post if you are concerned when working on electrical connections in a vehicle. I’ve never seen a short while plugging or unplugging a vehicle.

      I appreciate your videos and your knowledge. What i am trying to explain is there is a vehicle specific issue with the trailblazer that can destroy the actuators in the ventilation system during reboot of control module causing overthrow as result of battery dissconnect. This is a known issue, there are others.
      Do your self and your loyal viewers a favor and research this. It is important and expensive.
      Thanks again for your videos. Please note i am not trying to be "smarter" I am trying to save anyone from the incurred damage and cost by sharing information that is available.

    • @jjmccloud
      @jjmccloud 5 років тому

      Facts!!! It'll fudge up the vent actuator for the AC and your air won't blow out the vents without resetting the comp which is rarely lucky enough to be done without paying the dealership a hundred bucks lmao trust me
