  • found a carb setting in well known vespa forum. tested even with AFR and DYNO power curve! so the REAL DEAL :D nothing can go wrong: 0:00 intro / 0:01 bfa acceleration / 0:28 jetting info / 0:58 leaner as M244? / 1:23 testride / 2:24 FAIL! / 3:17 nervous idle / 4:11 KILLER setting tip / 4:29 resibox NOISE / 4:43 conclusion / 5:23 passive or active dyno?
the online tip out of a well known vespa forum, even "confirmed" with AFR value diagram and dyno power curve was: AS264, X2 leanest position, mj130.
    testride: AS264, X2 leanest, mj132, ij62
acceleration at the beginning is also with AS264.
so it does work somehow.. but for how long and which price ;)
    ACTIVE vs PASSIVE dyno:
only an ACTIVE dyno puts stress on the bike, like it happens on the road, so you get the real jetting, which will also work on the road. just a PASSIVE without active stressing, doesnt give you correct jettings. you need a lot of experience to do so. read more about it here ie:
    www.bikesmedia.in/reviews/dyn...
setup: bfa306 out of the box. 1,8mm squish as recommended.
sip vape static 17°, hardi fuel pump (electric).
    conclusion:
do NOT turn off your head when u get info out of the web. stay criticial. rethink things to stay on the safe side. seizing kills your cylinder AND can cause an accident = hurt you.... no fun.
    ride safe!
    cheers mates :)

Indeed each engine behaves differently from another (different timings, wear, leaks etc) and we all drive in different conditions (median air temperature and above sea elevation). All of this affects jetting. So we should always adjust the jetting to our specific needs by trial in our driving conditions and should not rely in “magic” jetting formulas. Thank you mista FreakMoPed, for this amazing test and hints!

in fact. in the same area. similiar and HEALTHY engines are to be jetted quite similiar. if not. they are not healthy... which happens often. also fuel pump lazyness / fuel supply issues also change
      jetting...

I miss my T5 (152 Polini) a lot. What a great and punchy engine in a most beautiful vespa design imho. Cheers

    Is that a temp/rpm gauge or a EGT ?

My SX200 with 30mm Dellorto, Autissa piston etc was very fast because back then I was 6 stone lighter! Maybe 7 stone, to say the truth. Loved the 80's, me.

At 25 seconds of video, scooter shakes just like mine. Malossi 221. I want to put 24mm carb and sip 4.1 slide.

If that don't work then I must put a bigger carb 😁 30mm and disconnect autolube

always use anybodys jetting advise as guide rather than 100% accurate. All engines can differ slightly even if built with the same parts

if engines are healthy, similiar setups do have similiar jetting. often engines are not 100% sick when different jets are needed or its difficult to set.
