I absolutely adore the pacing of their relationship, especially on Yona’s part because you can tell she doesn’t love him for his power or looks but for who he is. I like how after she loses everything, she begins to truly appreciate how Hak treats her and learns just how much he means to her. I like that Kusanagi-sensei includes flashbacks to their past throughout the story (ie Hak staying with her for the New Years instead of going home), and I interpret it as Yona reflecting and realizing how she took his kindness for granted (especially when she saw him with the wind tribe). I think the romance aspect of this story is so so well done and I have yet to find another anime/manga couple that is more endearing than them. Thank you for posting this!
Is it weird that I love the pillow fight scene the most instead of fawning over Yona and Hak love scene? 😅 I just love it when the Happy Hungry Bunch and Ankoku Ryuu (Darkness Dragon aka Hak) are having fun 😂😂😂
YESSS although this HakYona scene is probably one of my favorites. But I remember when I first read that chapter I kept looking at that panel. I'm glad the drama CD was able to add extra to it
TOTALLY !! i love reading all the characters interacting with each other, playing around and having fun besides the horrendous circumstances sometimes they’re into:( and it’s endearing how they all have developed their relationship ❤️
I would like to point out something that always makes me tear up a bit, and is that zeno did what he promised when he gifted shinah that ball when he was a kid..... he’s playing with shinah🥺❤️
YESSSS THEY HAVE THE CUTEST DYNAMIC, I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. Zeno is really caring towards Shin Ah and respects his boundaries, while Shin Ah makes sure to not hurt him (if you read the Kuelbo arc, you'll know that Shin Ah refused to hurt Zeno). AND in the latest chapters, they both mocked each other. Shin Ah laughed at Zeno because he showed more emotions & Zeno mocked Shin Ah because he's being more open.

I love the fact how everybody is always protecting zeno even if he cannot die, that does not matter for them, it must be traumatic and painful to watch their fellow friend suffering so much, and shinah knows it, and he wouldn’t ever hurt zeno even if the circumstances require it. I also love the fact that zeno cuddles with shinah when they sleep !!!! it’s sooo cute!! zeno dynamic with every single character is so endearing.... I love them so much

Hak is the mister, Yona the little misses, the dragons are the dragons and I forgot what he calls Yoon, just boy or something. So you might be right that he doesn't want to get attached, on the other hand I think it's already too late for that. I mean he cares about them, all of them and a lot. And your note about Hak's suffering😭 same here💔 I love how no one treats him like an outsider, he's one of them - he's the darkness dragon. They all look after him. Zeno telling him he has to take care of himself because he can't be replaced, the dragons and even Yoon ready to protect him from Joo-doh after Hak saved Lily. They are always reassuring him that he's not alone and that they are going to protect Yona and that he can trust them. I'm so glad he has all these people he can trust around him now. Of course he has the wind tribe, they always have his back but they can't be his family right now, so for him to be surrounded by love and trust is so good to see😭❤
Aw my baby Zeno, the only one he calls by their name is himself, and just to not forget it 😭 I've also realized he doesn't call anyone outside the crew by their names either. He once talked to Soo Won and called him 'Mr. King'. Maybe it's just his thing. And about Hak, YES, ABSOLUTELY YES. This is why I love the Happy Hungry Bunch and Darkness Dragon crew SOOOO MUCH. They all love and support each other unconditionally. It's not like everyone follows Yona around but don't like each other (cuz that could be the case). Instead, they all protect their own. For instance, when Yoon was threatened by Joo Doh after the Kuelbo arc, all the dragons ran to protect him. I ALMOST CRIED, I LOVE THEIR DYNAMICS SO MUCH.

I don't know, or like you said it could be just his thing. And YES. They all have their own dynamics with each other and I love each of them. Yoon is like a mom to everyone, Hak and Jea-ha are drinking buddies and Hak is his only "mature" friend😂 With Kija we went from "I hate Hak" to "My name isn't Kija, it's White snake now" 😂 Hak and Shin-ah are just chilling and vibing and quietly trusting each other with their life. Zeno and Hak have this random deep talk thing going on with bone breaking reward hugs😂 And let's be real, Yona liked Hak for quite some time, she just never realized because of Soo won. These two are easily my favourite couple❤ It's just so damn pure and beautiful😭❤
But I just wondered.. Suppose, IF, Shiryuu will be with Yona until she gets old, does Zeno still going to call Yona "musume-san"? 😅 Because even though "musume" means girl or lady, the meaning indicates more towards the impression of a young girl. Imagine Yona is an old hag but being called "young girl" Lol

Soo Won is still a traitor, but he's such a complex and interesting character. I lovr him so much, just not around the Happy Hungry Bunch.

I always saw su-won as choosing his aceness as he knows *SPOILERS* Any child of his will have the dragon sickness. He has become detached to not spread the disease. In replacement, he became obsessed with fixing Kouka before he died, trying to employ the cold, unfeeling tactics of his father. Ultimately, he discovered he couldn't sacrifice everyone to reach his goal: his love for hak and yona comes through and he can't 'discard' them. He isn't an emotionless cunning psychopath, but he'd probably like to be.

4:01 Honestly, I could see Soo Won as mostly not being into anyone, but I don't totally see Soo Won as asexual and here's why: I think he originally like liked Hak. For Yona, I truly believe he always cared about her as his cousin, but Hak seemed different. This is coming from someone who's only seen the anime and manga from these videos, so my information isn't complete or anything. That said, in the scene when he and Hak are talking about the future, Soo Won seemed very adamant in saying that he wanted him. Normally, Yona is the one who's romance-dense, but I think Hak took some of those traits for that scene. When he was saying he'd be Soo Won's too (as far as serving him and Yona), I feel like that meant something different for Soo Won. Hak even looked surprised when Soo Won leaned onto his shoulder after that conversation. There were some more minor things too, but that was the main thing for me. More than likely, he just never said anything because everyone expects him to find a wife and Hak is straight. Of course, I could be completely wrong, but this is how I see his feelings
Here let me correct you. I've been watching the anime and reading the manga. Soo-Won is a strange person who doesn't have any specific attachment towards one person/one place/one thing. He lives solely for his goal to become the King of Kouka (to avenge his father's death and make Kouka the strongest country). In the manga, Hak stated that Soo-Won has always been loved everyone or people in general (Soo-Won also said this to Hak), and deeply interested with everything around him. At the same time, Soo-Won also has psycopathic personality. But he won't do pointless violent things for the sake of it, he's not a sadistic warmonger like his father Yoo-Hon, but he'll do anything without hesitation to achieve his goal (kills King Il, betrays his best friends, and so on). Soo-Won equally loves Yona, Hak, and every other person he knew because he thinks people are interesting, he doesn't discriminate nor develops any romantical feelings towards one person. It's a platonic love. As for Hak, he's always been in love with Yona since he was a kid but he won't do anything further because he's just Yona's guard, he understands his position. He's loyal to both Yona and Soo-Won (as their best friend and their royal guard). Hak's fine as long as Yona can find her happiness by marrying the one she loves which is Soo-Won. Yona loved Soo-Won but then she moved on and began to love Hak. Now Hak and Yona have openly expressed their love towards each other, no more one sided love for Hak. But their future is still unknown. Yona still has a lot of important things to do for the sake of Kouka Kingdom. Currently Soo-Won is dying. I hope he'll die soon. Then Yona and Hak can marry and become the next Kouka rulers.
23:55 Sadly, your theory makes sense to me ;-; Also, you said in one of your videos that Zeno had used 'ore' instead of his name... I kinda hope too the character really did it (and that it wasn't a mistake from the seiyuu) ! (Even though I think ANY is much better and teaches as many great lessons as some classical pieces of literature we're forced to study and analyze in class...)

Any child of his will have the dragon sickness.
He has become detached to not spread the disease. In replacement, he became obsessed with fixing Kouka before he died, trying to employ the cold, unfeeling tactics of his father. Ultimately, he discovered he couldn't sacrifice everyone to reach his goal: his love for hak and yona comes through and he can't 'discard' them. He isn't an emotionless cunning psychopath, but he'd probably like to be.

4:01 Honestly, I could see Soo Won as mostly not being into anyone, but I don't totally see Soo Won as asexual and here's why: I think he originally like liked Hak. For Yona, I truly believe he always cared about her as his cousin, but Hak seemed different. This is coming from someone who's only seen the anime and manga from these videos, so my information isn't complete or anything. That said, in the scene when he and Hak are talking about the future, Soo Won seemed very adamant in saying that he wanted him. Normally, Yona is the one who's romance-dense, but I think Hak took some of those traits for that scene. When he was saying he'd be Soo Won's too (as far as serving him and Yona), I feel like that meant something different for Soo Won. Hak even looked surprised when Soo Won leaned onto his shoulder after that conversation. There were some more minor things too, but that was the main thing for me. More than likely, he just never said anything because everyone expects him to find a wife and Hak is straight. Of course, I could be completely wrong, but this is how I see his feelings

I've been watching the anime and reading the manga.
Soo-Won is a strange person who doesn't have any specific attachment towards one person/one place/one thing. He lives solely for his goal to become the King of Kouka (to avenge his father's death and make Kouka the strongest country).
In the manga, Hak stated that Soo-Won has always been loved everyone or people in general (Soo-Won also said this to Hak), and deeply interested with everything around him. At the same time, Soo-Won also has psycopathic personality. But he won't do pointless violent things for the sake of it, he's not a sadistic warmonger like his father Yoo-Hon, but he'll do anything without hesitation to achieve his goal (kills King Il, betrays his best friends, and so on).
Soo-Won equally loves Yona, Hak, and every other person he knew because he thinks people are interesting, he doesn't discriminate nor develops any romantical feelings towards one person. It's a platonic love.
As for Hak, he's always been in love with Yona since he was a kid but he won't do anything further because he's just Yona's guard, he understands his position. He's loyal to both Yona and Soo-Won (as their best friend and their royal guard). Hak's fine as long as Yona can find her happiness by marrying the one she loves which is Soo-Won.
Yona loved Soo-Won but then she moved on and began to love Hak.
Now Hak and Yona have openly expressed their love towards each other, no more one sided love for Hak.
But their future is still unknown. Yona still has a lot of important things to do for the sake of Kouka Kingdom.
Currently Soo-Won is dying. I hope he'll die soon. Then Yona and Hak can marry and become the next Kouka rulers.

To be honest, I was writing an essay once in highschool and I wanted to talk about the classical character than has everything at the beginning of the story and ends up loosing it. I knew the archetype existed but I had no example in mind and time was passing by. So I talked about Yona... saying it was a Japanese piece of literature. x'D Can you imagine how desperately passionate I was? (Even though I think ANY is much better and teaches as many great lessons as some classical pieces of literature we're forced to study and analyze in class...)

¡Hola! Curiosamente, inicié estos videos para mi pequeño fanclub de Akayona en español. Mi video anterior tiene subtítulos en español, aunque el manga sí está en inglés. Decidí traducirlos a inglés porque es más universal y porque el sitio donde leo manga enseña todas las páginas seguidas. Si conoces alguna en español donde no haya que pasar página por página, podría considerar traducir los CD Dramas a español. Pero, por ahora, creo que mantendré las traducciones en inglés.

I found it in a CD Drama compilation for Akatsuki no Yona in Google 😂 There are 11 CD dramas so far, that are basically the voice actors reading the manga and adding original lines (or even scenes, like in this one)
