Berm Park's Hardest Trail - A Close Look At Every Feature And How To Ride It!

  • We ride Berm Park's hardest trail called Roll The Dice, and I discuss every feature and how to ride them all! Berm Park is a free public bike park in Canton, North Carolina, made possible by Seth from Seth's Bike Hacks and Berm Peak youtube channels. He brought everyone together to protect the land and fundraise to build trails for the public. The greater Asheville area has tons of tech trails, so this was an opportunity for more bikepark style trails, which are lacking. There's everything from Green to Double Black, and the ratings are specific to this park, so this double black is not as difficult as a Whistler Bike Park Double Black.

    Eric, when you say “lean in” to the wall, you mean making it so your tires are perpendicular to the wall, right? I think of this as leaning away since you want your shoulder far away from the wall.
    Not trying to be a pendantic jerk wad. Just trying to understand.
    Thanks for the videos!

    • @PorterMTB
      @PorterMTB  2 роки тому +2

      Hey! Great question, no need to apologize! You got it right, when I say lean in I mean tires perpendicular to the wall, the same way you would lean over when riding a berm. A classic wall ride mistake is to be too vertical, which will cause your tires to slip down the wall, so by leaning over and getting your tires perpendicular, it keeps this from happening, and allows you to pull off the wall at the end, almost like bunnyhopping off of a flat surface.

    • @PorterMTB
      @PorterMTB  2 роки тому +1

      That's cool you saw that, Aaron is a good friend and it's rad to see him posting all these older clips! I haven't hit a rail in years, but I would love to do one again at some point. That clip he posted from Spain is actually the last rail I ever did, it got really annoying having to take my rotors off to be able to 50/50 rails like a BMX bike, except without pegs. Maybe one day though!
