I moved mine to that exact same glass enclosure after about 6 months (purchased a sling Dec '20). The spider hid in the corner for about a month before venturing out. I keep a decent amount of light on it and it seems to prefer it. It'll crawl around all hours of the day, webbing as it goes. You'll love yours. Super cool animal that will develop some fantastic colors as it gets older.
Your doing great!!. However my slings that size, he's 😨 afraid, spaces to big . Go smaller, lots of bark cave, leaves,. Safe big enclosure 4 down road. Looks good
Yea 49.95, great. Just paid $80.00, in USA Alabama. Demands high an supply low. Females go Black Widow on males, regularly, pairings not always successful. Worth it
I know you probably know this now but if not that mesh lid on the glass enclosure is a big no no with Tarantulas. You'll want to rip it out and fit a acrylic piece to it. Keeping it mesh risks the tarantula getting their hooks caught in the mesh resulting in them hanging there. The enclosure was very well designed though and GBB's are imo the best beginner species, they have everything a keeper looks for.
I see this vid is 3 yrs old, how is your GBB doing in 2023? I'm planning on getting one next year. What is the growth rate on the slings? thx for thoughts.
Cool little sling mate but that enclosure is miles to big for it. The new tub you have is ok size. Just keep dry and loads of anchor points for webbing. Ever need a hand message me dude. Cool little T you have there 💚
I've never seen a gbb at a pet store! All the slings im seeing lately are $80 plus. Just got a sling a couple weeks ago for $85. Its in the same enclosure and mine did the same hammocking up in the top corner. Then she molted that first week.
Someone in a group told me that GGBs aren't arboreal, I had to completely change my set up. Is that not true? I thought they were semi arboreal but everyone in my group was correcting me. What's right?
Yes they’re semi arboreal, they like and will prefer to web in higher places but also want enough room to burrow especially when young and in an Arid environment!
They all hang out up top untilltbry get use to it ,he'll come down ,they all will explore there home u ever been in jail same thing Way to much room he won't be able to fi d prey that easy
Wow u could have got atleast 2 where im from they are between 10-20 euro depending where u buy ... but from what i know about American prices ur getting ripped off on alot of stuff ... also nice enclosure maybe little to bit for a sling
@@orionspets5643 I got a juvenile female GBB, 6cm legspan and I payed 35$. I also got a juvenile Hamorii female, 8cm legspan and I payed 45$. In europe tarantula's are really cheap

The enclosure the T was in was far to big for it.. And when moving the T poke it with a paint brush rather then tongs... Really nice new set up...

Bit late but GBB’s aren’t arboreal, they are terrestrial.
They're actually semi terrestrial, they like both hence why they web a lot

Mate that t could just stay in that pot you bought it in for a lot longer spiders like small places enclosure like that are for full grown🤣🤣
oh my gosh if my spider hides like this I will be very disappointed. I want to see it always-on display :D
😊
Tarantulas should have cross ventilation, prevents MANY problems
Yeah I figured that out like a week later. I had a humidity problem so I ended up drilling holes vertical as well. Problem solved
Look into tarantula cribs or herpcult acrylic taratiums they are the bomb
On fear not tarantulas they're 100, the one I got was tho. But I ended up getting it free because I won't a giveaway
Got mine for 60$ with enclosure and breeding crickets
I will be putting on my channel soon!

I suck
Wow. You’re gonna loose him
Lol naw I got him. I am going to do a enclosure upgrade vid this week so keep tune
Way to big
My thought process at the time, was to give it space to see where it would settle. I wanted to mimic it being in the wild.
