This song reached Australia too. Was a huge hit. Awesome song. Back than we had more white Africans than Black Africans. How great is life now. Music is beautiful. Unity is better.
I love to hear and watch Africans review this song. It's wonderful how strong this song hits home for you. We Americans have "African Americans" here who've never been to Africa nor have any real affinity towards Africa. You true Africans and the love you have for your homeland, especially when living far away from it, reviews like this truly warms my heart. There should be a thousand red heart icons floating out of you when speaking about this song. :)
Many years ago I was looking to shake up my life and decided that I would travel from the US to somewhere. This song came on the radio just then and it was settled that I needed to visit Tanzania. I've lived in Tanzania almost 17 years now. I haven't regretted it. Thank you Toto for the inspiration.
This is the most animated and passionateRreaction I have ever heard! And with good reason. Africa remains one of my all-time favourites - the music, the lyrics, the love for Africa. I heard this song, no this masterpiece, on a demo cassette. What an inspired choice. It has sparked off an interest I have in Africa; I have written about many African countries. Toto always play Africa at their concerts. Long may they continue to bring us Africa.
I love, love, love this song. Beautiful sound gives you goosebumps. The beat will definitely move your feet. The harmony surrounds you and uplifts your soul.
This band started in the late 70's & has been performing for over 40 years now. They mix all types of genres in their sound. You've done 2 of their biggest hits "Africa" & "Rosanna". Other songs by them are "I'll Supply The Love", "Georgy Porgy", "99", "Make Believe", "Stranger In Town", "I'll Be Over You", "Without Your Love", "Stop Loving You", "Pamela" etc.
Toto - Africa. Reached number one on the United States Billboard Hot 100 chart, for a single week February 5, 1983. Thanks Sarah! For a great reaction video! 🙂
What an infectious song! The beat, the harmony, it moves into a musical climax that is so moving and satisfying. Plus the singer, David Paich, is so sexy in this.
Absolutely love this song, I can’t imagine anyone that grew up in the 80’s not singing along with this. Sarah, a choir auditioned for America’s Got Talent with this song, their version is so incredible, Angel City Chorale, please try to fit it in. That choir is incredible, Simon loved them, everyone did❤. Thank you Sarah, have a wonderful weekend.
Love your reaction. I was the former manager of the lead singer for Toto his name as Bobby Kimball heads the guy with the great voice and the second verse. That says I felt the reins down an Africa. Which is what is the most amazing part of this song. Glad you like it I speak to him all the time. I will share your video with him. He lives in Los Angeles.
I love how most of the reactions I saw couldn't understand the lyrics and they were mostly americans... But then you come and simply understand it's about love for the land and not a romance.
Another great hit, "Rosanna" is well known for a unique shuffle beat that drummer Jeff Porcaro devised. It's called "The Rosanna Shuffle" and is something that all drummers feel compelled to learn at one point or another.
I love your videos - they inspire me to listen to songs that I've heard and loved a thousand times before at deeper levels, and rediscover them with a new passion.
Great that this song resonated for you. It has an exotic feel to it. Toto is a really acomplished band with their own special vocals. Another strong song of theirs is "Hold the Line".
What do you think you're doing? You are uncovering a vice for me, this song hypnotizes me (it really is like that) I can't listen to it just once and that's it, I play it on a loop for hours, for days, to sleep, I don't know what it produces in me, but it transports me far away, even at inappropriate hours. I feel real obsession with this song, thanks for your nice reaction
I enjoyed your reaction as much as you enjoyed listening to the song! And seeing you react to a song about your home continent it occurs to me to suggest you one day react to "Band On The Run" by Paul McCartney and Wings. In addition to being a great song by an ex-Beatle, the album was recorded in Lagos!!! Stay well!!
Out of curiosity, have you reacted to Paul Simon's "Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes"? He does the song backed up by African singers. It's very good and worth checking out.
One of my absolute favorites from my youth 💕💕💕🔥🔥🔥💕💕💕 loved your reaction especially during the synthesiser solo! Thank for bringing me a smile this morning!
I bless the rains down in Africa !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The song was written in response to heavy droughts Africa was facing at the time. Hence the chorus, _"I bless the rains down in Africa."_
Last year I was with the Masai on Mt. Meru, Tanzania when the first rains came after the dry season, and it is a true blessing
For sure. And it makes me want to go back there again and again

@@changesnlatitudes why Tanzania?
A tribute to the mysterious and exotic continent of Africa by Toto.
That continent birthing wild passions !!
Africa beautiful place, beautiful people.

I think quite the same. Sometimes I wonder why sometimes the AOR songs hit so tremendously on people!

I love this song, and is hands down one of my favourite calming songs... Nothing works better than this song to put me in a calm, relaxed, happy mood
Written by steve lukathur. He also wrote lots of toto hits and Human Nature by MJ

When your heart truly feels for a place, the emotion is overpowering and undeniable.

When I saw u say, This Feels Like Home"...there was 0 chance I was gonna miss it...🤙🙏
Love this song too! The video is a head scratcher. What is that. But the drums the harmonies, sweet.

There are some really good videos of choirs singing this almost a cappella. A really catchy song!
This is a great song
This made me so happy to see your genuine reaction Sarah. One of my favorite songs.
Epic song.. Beautiful and powerful. Soaring chorus and and groove so deep it could float an aircraft carrier
I've always loved this band Toto!!!
Sarah darling you look fantastic!😘😘😘love Toto!
Love this song… ❤️
Great song to get on the dance floor with your love.
That album from Toto in 1982, think it was called IV, was absolutely incredible. Vocals, songwriting, instrumentals. Absolutely pristine.
Beautiful
The happiness on your face was felt by us all🙂
The original passport bros.
I really loved your analysis of the song at the end. Truly insightful!
One of my favorites from my youth

I was in school when this came out. It truly is a masterpiece!!
Great reaction and beautiful smile
A beautiful song for a beautiful African woman. How did you like the lyric "Hurry boy she's waiting there for you?". I had the record. Great song❤
Love that song. Think you’d love “you say” by Lauren Daigle
👏👏👏❤❤❤
Often watch this video just for your reaction , no one loves a song and the meaning it holds for you , more than you :-). !
Also try Enya, Africa
Try checking out the LP version; there's an intro and outro that the video cuts off.
We need to protect Africa from agriculture and the cutting down of trees it to beautiful of a place to disappear
Song is great. The video, like 95% (correction: 98%) of music videos, is senseless and a distraction from listening to the song. Beautiful reaction.
if you loved Toto listen to the guys former band Steely Dan.....
'rise above the 'Severity'?
Serengeti
Gonna take a lot to take me away from you…..
Lyrics all wrong in spots..lol
Beautiful song 💖 by beautiful people 💗
