This is my FAVORITE ever musical piece... it moves my spirit so that I break out into tears... anyway, this is BEAUTIFULLY recorded- I like being able to see the entire orchestra at once as in love viewing, but what a blessing to see the closeups of conductor, performers and sections! Good god almighty, this piece is inspired... well done to the recorders, the orchestra and conductor. BRAVO!!
This is so beautiful. Sinopoli and the Staatskapelle must have been born for each other. The finale so touching and the audience in harmony to be patience for the ovation
It's amazing!
At 7:57 I see 12 off stage horns (along with offstage Trp & Trb) being played ONstage, muted. That's cheating, isn't it? No, I didn't expect 12 horns (there are only 3 actual parts), but how about getting some guys up in the balcony? That would have been cool. Nevertheless, Strauss and Sinopoli are magic. There is always a thread of lyricism in his interpretations, no matter how noisy Strauss gets. He has one of the greatest Salome's, with Malfitano and Terfel. Fortunately, it is preserved on DVD and on youtube.
Sinopoli was a truly great conductor who left us far too soon. Does anyone know the date of this recording? This performance is certainly on par with the studio recording of 1981 by Karajan and Berlin.
Not quite: granted the Dresden Staatskapelle has a wonderful and unique sound which is all its own and would still be there if there was a kangaroo at the conductor's desk (altho' whether it would be after ten years of Herr Kangaroo.....that would be an interesting, but probably not worthwhile experiment!) But Sinopoli's tempi and direction are different from other conductors and do work well together with the orchestra's own qualities.
The question is: Was it conscious or unconscious? I think the later. Verklarte starts in D minor and ends in D Major. Alpine begins and ends in B flat minor.

An excellent rendition of this magnificent work, I'm instantly transported to the remote solitude of the Alpen peaks whenever I hear this symphony.
Wunderbar, dieser warme deutsche Klang des Orchesters.
Wirklich atemberaubend, von Anfang bis Ende. Wunderschöner Orchesterklang und Solisten.
Cowbells at 16:44, wind machine at 38:35, thunder machine at 41:05.

This is my favourite symphony!!!!!!!
Well, it's not a symphony but a symphonic poem - but never mind. It is still beautiful.☺️
Veramente una registrazione meravigliosa! Anche con video in high definition!
Sublime a minha preferida
Muchas gracias EuroArtsChanel por brindar esta Magestuosidad.
Fine production, in a great hall for music.
Majestic.
My favourite part is at 8:00 where we hear the magnificent off stage brass!!
Amazing. I think the brass is muted. You can see the mute in one of the horns' bell.
Wonderful!!!!
Highest Giuseppe Sinopoli!
Historische Aufnahme! :-)

The horn at 45:19, 45:20, 47:18...what a pity!. But all in all it's a great performance. And the incredible Sinopoli!
It happens
Given the extreme humidity in the hall and the intense heat generated by the stage lighting it's understandable.
@@robertmanno5749 Yes, this is one big piece for the horn section and the heat does nothing for one's accuracy, but as Karl says, it happens.
Excellent

Schönbergs Verklährte Nacht am Anfang ?

Kija by the finale and the peak of the mountain (around 25:00) are so well conducted .. it sounds so so good and smooth yet so epic.
this orchestra plays like this with or without Sinopoli ...
Not quite: granted the Dresden Staatskapelle has a wonderful and unique sound which is all its own and would still be there if there was a kangaroo at the conductor's desk (altho' whether it would be after ten years of Herr Kangaroo.....that would be an interesting, but probably not worthwhile experiment!) Sinopoli e Strauss... What else?
Karajan!
Opening is ripped off from Verlarte Nacht (1899). It is even called Nacht.
The question is: Was it conscious or unconscious? I think the later. Verklarte starts in D minor and ends in D Major. Alpine begins and ends in B flat minor.
@@robertmanno5749 I agree. In my own modest compositions i have found it to be so.

Where" the organ?
Around 39:00. and 45:00
anyone can time mark each track ?
A big introduction and no date of the concert.
Obwohl italiener?? Was für ein Quatsch

Wow!
some of the phrasings is choking me... this is well done but I still like Kempe's better
