Live JVC Jazz Festival Tokio Marcus Miller - bass Poogie Bell - drums Dean Brown - guitar Roger Byam - saxophone Bruce Flowers - keyboards Patches Stewart - trumpet
Absolutely beautiful. I've had the pleasure of meeting Marcus Miller when I wasn't well a couple of years ago. I was treated to a concert in Manchester UK. I got to meet him afterwards, he was lovely. It made my year.
I wish Donnie Hathaway and Marcus could have collaborated together because I hear Donnie all over this track. Brilliant interpretation of Beethoven's classic. Perhaps in another time Beethoven would have been the great jazz composer of his era.
through the body it's a soul on the body * the colors note of the night after sunrise it disappears to appear star and she in the sun looks like enter and i will take you to carry in the afterlife this * през тялото душа е на тялото * цветовете нота на нощта след изгрева изчезва за да се появи звезда пък тя на слънцето прилича влез и ще те взема за да пренесем в отвъдното това
This is the best verision of moonlight sonata. I think Bethoven would be proud. You know: all these classical musician are playing it the way it was written. I cant think of anything more boring than play a tune the way it was written. I'm pretty sure some would call this verision blasfemy:)
Nothing can be more beautiful than Beethoven's piano but I think that any of other masters of jazz can make a better jazz version with so much feel and groove like Marcus did. I love Marcus, I preffer the original version but Marcus' work here is divine.
Dean Brown's solo at the end accompanied by trumpet and simple bass is the example of what modern jazz is about and how it expresses groovy feelings. This is subjective from person to a person, but for me it works. Free form of real art.
After hearing this, I think Beethoven might have been a pimp. He had the strong hand on some notes!
A great composition by Beethoven and a great arrangement and interpretation of Marcus Miller! A true artist.

Moonlight meets Shine On, I'll never hear Beethoven or Floyd the same again. Brilliant!

You are an fantasic Musician.... but to play Beethoven with two chords is naughty ;)
Two chords? Might wanna count again...

No point in playing it the same way it’s been played before
