It's so interesting to see how the mama bird has plucked at the same place. My first clutch was attacked by the mama, so I had to remove her, but luckily the dad did do a great job on his own. Now the oldest is 4 weeks and I've started taking them out of the cage for taming. I clocely watched them today as the chick was a little a way, and the mama came over, sat on top of it, and went on to pluck it. She only managed to pluck it once. It is so sad to see her attack the chicks. I let my three adults budgies fly free in my living room, and though both the males are tame, I never managed to tame her, so I can't put her in a cage to keep her away from the chicks. This means contantly guarding the chicks while they are out. I don't mind it though. I really enjoy watching them grow! You're doing a great job. Ps: Please rename video to make it easier for others to know what to do when the chicks are being plucked. Usually feather plucking videos are all about birds self mutilating. Maybe something more along the line like: "Mother budgie feather plucking chicks". It took me ages to find this video after searching.
