Amen! Just because cosmetics didn't come from a designed store or Sephora doesn't mean they're bad products. Some products may take a little more finessing and blending but overall you can still get good stuff at the drugstore level or even the dollar store level!

It doesn't really matter if you spend $100 or $1 in a product. If you don't know how to use it, it's just wasted money. You can achieve the same, or sometimes better result, with drugstore makeup. Just because it's cheap doesn't necessarily mean it will be bad. I like some Dollar Tree makeup. I cannot spend $50 for a palette, but if you have the money to throw it away, great, go ahead 😊
I agree 1,000%. I buy makeup at grocery/drug stores and the Dollar Tree and it really IS all about the application. I watched makeup tutorials, learned various tips and tricks and simply applied them to the more affordable makeup. Spending 50 bucks on one product to me is crazy...I would never do it. I love the cheaper products!
We just got a new dollar tree near my house and holy crap is it huge!!! And had a ton of makeup to chose from! I treated myself to 3 wet n wild lipsticks, 2 elf smudge pots, a pack of retinol makeup remover wipes, 2 wet n wild brushes (not for me sadly - for a gift), and an adorable makeup bag! Major score!!! :)

I really lucked out at that new DT but I have found my pink/white wet n wild brushes at these stores, the two pack of LA Colors brushes Everyone raves about, a collection of great lipsticks and all the goodies I just mentioned. No wonder I never have any money in my wallet!!! :)
I always check the makeup when I'm at Dollar Tree. I've found Maybelline Color Tattoos there, Milani Bella eye-shadows, and other brand name drugstore makeup!
I saw the wet n Wild fergie line at my dollar tree on Wednesday. It included all her eyeshadow palettes, mattifying powders, blushes, foundations, concealers, lipsticks, etc. I also saw those Milani eyeshadows there too. If I was in a pinch, my dollar tree would definitely save me! 👍🏽
I love dollar tree it is my happy place. I use LA Colors eyeshadow and blush. That stuff is good for just a dollar and I wear wet n wild lip everything. I splurge on foundation and concealer. What I like most about LA Color is that it doesn't break me out, it lasts well on top of good base. LA Color now has matte shadow palettes which makes me happy. Last thing. LA Color has a 2$ foundation with a decent Color range. BTW- your makeup really looks good. You did very well.
This was going to be my comment as well. I used baby powder for my face for a long time in school when I was on a super budget. I'm pale so it didn't really matter.

I never seem to get as lucky as she does, my dollar stores in the area don't have big makeup/beauty sections 😭 I've specifically tried finding the City Color be matte blushes and Emily has raved about those for a long time!! Thanks for sharing this fun video Z, I was actually quite attracted to those warm tones on the left side of the eye shadow palette! Wonder how those would perform! if you have a Five Below store near you, you'll find a lot of city color stuff there! including the be matte blushes. that's where I got mine for $3. I got 3 different colors. I only went looking for them BC of Emily and I love them :)

Please do not use lipstick on the eye area! It's very bad and could cause an infection and irritation. Nyx offers colour correcting products (at least what I checked) and it is much better for your eye.
Why in the world would lipstick cause an infection if used on your skin?? It's safe for your lips which are made of skin and directly connected to your mouth!

Agree! I think out of lots of Dollar Tree makeup challenge, I think Z is the only one who'd make attempt using sponges and brushes bought from the store or in the package of the products. If you use more superior tools with even decent to above average skills, obviously the products should work all the better. Shop at the Dollar Tree quite frequently. The availability of products depends on the size and location of the store. I have found that the stores attempt to carry products that would suit the population of the area. They do carry concealer and powder, bot loose and pressed.
Oh, neat! I've seen you mention Color Mates in other videos, but it wasn't until now that I realized I own one of their palettes. My mom received one as a gift and then passed it along to me, and I was surprised by how interesting the colors were. Mine has some sandy yellows, smoky silvers and the most awesome dark hunter green. I'm glad I know where it came from now! Thank you, Zabrena. :)

I adore those wet n wild lippies. I have to own at least 10 different shades and I get use out of them all the time. And personally I think that they are far more comfortable on the lips than MAC mattes.
I love Wet n' Wild Bare it All!! I didn't wear lipstick until I found that! I couldn't find my tube of it one time so I went out and bought another one. I now have two of them and I use them all the time.
I've had good luck with LA Colors lipsticks, so I purchased the LA Colors liquid makeup in true beige at my local Dollar Tree too. It's water-based, and comes in a little pump tube. I also bought a sassy and chick blender sponge to put it on. These two products worked wonderfully together! The LA Colors liquid makeup, I hardly had to use any to get a really nice look. I'm definitely sticking with these things from now on!

In a pinch you can use baby powder to mattify your face. I have used one that contained cornstarch and it worked very nicely.

I use Wet 'n Wild "Pink Suga" lipstick shade (it's peach, not pink) to color-correct under my eyes. It's so pigmented and awesome!
