I truly enjoyed watching this. Thank you for making it available. I'm a native of Jacksonville, born at St. Vincent's Hospital and raised in the Murray Hill area. Attended Ruth N Upson Elementary, John Gorrie Jr HS, and Robert E Lee HS.
I was born in Baptist Hospital in ‘63, exactly 4 months later JFK was murdered! Was raised in Arlington but left for Orlando in ‘82! Still here! I’ll always love Jacksonville and that’s why I’m here!
What a wonderful show! Many of those photos were just priceless. I played jazz all over Jacksonville including the 1996 Jax Jazz Festival where I was filmed for PBS. Once again many thanks for your timeless piece of Jacksonville's history. From high in the sky Reno Nevada.
At 18:04 is the photo of The Carleton House with a date of 1876. Is that when it was built? You said it was the 1860’s. Also, is that the Florida State Flag on top? The first FL state flag was created in 1868 but the one in the pic(if it’s the FL flag) is of the 1900-1985 version.

This is way more interesting and entertaining than anything on television

I want to meet Dr. Wood and shake his hand.
