This might be a dumb question but can you reverse to polarity at the charge controller instead of using an adapter? I also want to say thank you, this is the best video when dealing with the Keystone Zamp equipment, it seemed like what you did is what I needed to do but the confirmation is great!

    What panels did you use?

I have a 2021 keystone passport 219BH which also has the zamp outlet on the front of the trailer. We were hoping to be able to move the panels to the ground if camping in a tree covered area. Does yours have the same outlet and is it wired so that the charge controller mounted in the area you used remains between the panel and the battery?

Video is not useful at all. You didn't show how to do anything, uou just show what it looks like after it's done.

Good presentation! Is the smart shunt necessary when running two 6v in series? What is the shunt's purpose?

No it is not. The shunt is useful to see the actual charge. It also allows you to see how many amps each 12volt item uses.

I know this video was posted a year ago but this has been the most helpful for me in putting solar on my keystone bullet. One thing I'm having a difficult time with figuring out is the wires that go from the charge controller to the battery. Did you have to install those or were they already there? I too have solar/inverter prep but the only wires I have coming out of my hole is the romex loop and 1 black and white wire which obviously come from the roof and into the charge controller. My trailer has a giggy box which has a positive lead from the solar post but I don't know where it goes from there. Amy help would be greatly appreciated. The dealer wants thousands of dollars to install my pre purchased part (keystone rvs recommended Zamp system) I'm not comfortable paying that much for something that is supposed to be "plug & play".

On my trailer the wires from the roof top solar prep went straight to the battery and where next to the romex wire. I cut the wires and one end went into my charge controller and the other side went into the output of the charge controller. The output side is already connected the battery. It’s confusing cause it’s not labeled, I double checked the polarity using a multimeter.

@@metzbeadventurous46 ok. Mine is most likely different I only have a red and black wire and the romex loop in that hole. The red and black wire I'm assuming is coming from the roof cause there is no power coming from it. So that tells me that it's to go to the input of the charge controller and I still need to find the wires going to that battery to complete the install. I did purchase the same breaker linked on the description for this video so I just have some loose ends to get this done.
