- Native to Africa, this colorful weaver is a popular cagebird, and escapees have established nesting populations in coastal southern California and in the Houston area in Texas. Escaped birds are sometimes seen elsewhere, especially in Florida, and the species is well established in Puerto Rico.

Really enjoyed watching your discipline changing out the lens. Can't tell you how many times I wish I'd blown out my sensor in the field while changing lenses especially with the Z6 or Z7's. Tricking the shutter closed doesn't usually cut it. Nice shots as always.

How many did you see? been looking for the Females, so far only saw two males the last 2 years.
I just saw the one male. Which I think is back again this year. I didn't see it last year. I doubt there will be females because it's probably an escaped pet... I think 🤔

Hi Rose! This was so long ago that I'm not sure if it's even there any more. But it was jn the reeds where the haskell creek drains into the LA River. Let me know if you find it
