About 30km I reckon to the mouth of the river. Then it is “semi-sheltered” waters around the islands. But beyond that, the next land to the North is Indonesia. We were fishing in the semi-sheltered waters. So you can see it still gets pretty rough sometimes.
King Ash Bay started as a small fishing camp where keen fishos would come and camp on the banks of the river. It has slowly grown over the years to what it is now. The King Ash Bay Fishing Club Inc pumps its own water, generates its own power, has a rubbish dump etc. It’s a genuine small town now.
Thanks everyone for watching. Where should I go fishing next?
