- We put our two four wheel drive projects up against each other in an off road showdown! Our 4 engined, 848cc 4wd go kart vs. our single engined (but also 4wd) Bronco power wheels go kart! These are two completely different approaches to four wheel drive. The 4 engine kart is simple- no suspension, one engine powering each individual wheel. The power wheels go kart on the other hand has full front and rear suspension, and a custom chain driven 4wd system that stems from one Tillotson 228cc engine.

That 4 engine go cart is both a marvel of backyard engineering and proof that "You know what'd be cool" doesn't always pay off like we'd hope.
More ground clearance with larger tires on that thing would be beast

Nah, rebuild it in form of Halo warthhog suspension setup and it might have some chance, but as it is its pretty useless. For going to river... there is easier ways to wreck 4 good engines....

You guys should try to do some kind of combination of the two carts. A two engine cart with the CV axles and suspension. One engine for the front and one for the rear. I wonder how that would perform. Seems like a cool build

The Bronco has shown how far you guy's have come in your ability to build more advanced karts. you guy's should congratulate yourselves on your progress. I would have say you guy's have come a long way no doubt.
I've been telling you, that little Powerwheels rides like a trophy truck! I watched enough races, watched them lifting those front wheels in the turns.
I think that on the 4 engine go kart, you need big tires, more ground clearance, and maybe suspension. Great video.
How would you put suspension on that thing it needs to be scrapped
@@frankdodson3534 I do not think that it needs to be scrapped. For one, it is their first 4x4 build, and it is actually pretty capable. It may not need suspension, but other than that, it is pretty good.

The 4 engine is a fun idea... for testing purposes. Zero suspension though. Amazed it did that well against the bronco, even with bald tires.

If there was anything you could change or improve, on the “Quad Rod”(4engine) what would it be
Solid axle in the front and back. Steering would be a pain, but it would prevent issues with the cart pulling one way from uneven delivery of power to each wheel.
them engines gonna ned a refreshing, they sound pretty weird.
If your talking about the knocking noise, Its the Torque-A-verters, They can sound like rod knock over time as they age

The suspension on the buggy against the rigid frame on the cart was the biggest advantage .
Damn...it it's not an ordinary 4 engine go kart. It is an rare 4 engine, one for each wheel, go kart.

Your guys next builds should be 2 of the same size rigs to race head to head! But Johns should be be heavier or less powerful to compensate the weight difference!

Put that 4 engine cart in the RIP pile for harvesting. It was an experiment, but now it's time to use those engines on better builds. Bronco looks damn fun to drive.

bronco is a MONSTER. a slight stretch on that chassis would make it simply incredible. i may copy that idea on a frame of mine. and yeah, poor quad motor needs some new shoes!

The 4 engine kart is just not made for off road. No suspension, too heavy, etc. Now get that thing tuned up for asphalt track and I bet it dominates the Bronco!

Two drag races, one on each side of the track.
Tandem hot laps, one with each kart leading, and the other attempting to pass,
and both karts taking both different cross country routes.
4 motor redesign. Engines on board the frame, articulated axles front and rear. Then Send IT!

Outstanding idea bringing these two karts together . If you put body panels on that trophy cart it will look like a bronco , think "big oley" of 60s baja dominance.

You guys need to up and move to a dryer climate .... Arizona when it rains is a muddy mess, but it rains about 26 days a year ... no snow ... never cold .... miles and miles of open desert to create tracks galore. The perfect home for Cars and Cameras.
