This my favorite thing to do is listen to your UA-cam channel while I eat lunch at work. I might loose weight because I have to put my fork down and write a few notes. 😆👍🏽. Thanks Ms Maugy for keeping us inspired.
Thank you for sharing an informative video. Exactly what I was looking for - great demonstration and thorough reviews. And what a beautiful painting! At the moment I am using two very old oriental painting brushes but wanted to find good quality synthetic brushes since I started to paint again. Da Vinci Casaneo and Princeton Neptune are my final choices I think! Thanks again.
@@AtelierSandrineMaugy omg i just started using them. WOW. The Elite make the colors more impactful when use on dry or in glazing and the Neptune definately are thirsty. But so helpful. Now I need to find brushes to use for larger scale work. Any ideas?
I just started watercolor not long ago and there were lots of positives out there on these so I bought some. The only thing I saw in reviews that you also indicated was the softer floppy less springy action. I’ve also bought a few Princeton Elite and Princeton Heritage to see how the water handling and springiness compare.
Lovely quince! Have you ever tried the Princeton Velvetouch 3950 Long Round #6 or #8, and if so, what are your thoughts about it? I do botanical painting and am looking for a synthetic long pointed round that comes to a sharp point and has a nice belly.
@@AtelierSandrineMaugy No I haven't. I was looking at the Velvetouch because I'm looking for a brush that resembles Billy Showell's new brushes, the synthetic version of her rebranded Raphaël 8408 which have a long fine tip and a full belly. I just feel like trying them for the heck of it; I'm perfectly happy with my 8408s. The Princeton Aqua-Elite does seem nice. I might try the #8. The Ultimo looks like it comes to a fine point, but it is not that long, and it looks very soft. Maybe I'll look at the Rosemary & Co. synthetic brushes. I still haven't figured out who makes Billy's brushes.
Actually, long refers to the length of the bristles and not the handle. It is longer and has a finer point. I also have the Elite and enjoy them as well.
@@patricialeonard9622 That's what I meant, sorry if it wasn't clear :) I prefer sorter bristles, as it gives me just a little more control in my very wet-in-wet washes. The Aqua Elite has long bristles...

Wow, I use fitness channels for that, your way sounds less exhausting! :D
I agree with your ratings. I love using my Princeton brushes. Your composition is amazing. I love the yellow quince with the blackbirds.
Fabulous feedback. Thank you. Thinking of buying.
Glad it was helpful :)
A lovely painting!
I wish they all had the sea glass handle

I just ordered a set of them and a set of Princeton elite for my birthday. Can't wait to get them.

I like the ProArte Prolene + Series 007. I have been using it for years, it just feels right to me :)
Getting my size 6 tomorrow will let you know how I like it.
I use mine all the time now, I love them :)

For me the Elite's bristles are too long but I never tried the Heritage... Let me know how you get on! :)
Thanks for the great review! Wanted to ask if you have noticed any bristles/hair falling off from the brushes?
Hi there! No, I haven't... This has really become a favourite brush and I am still using the ones I reviewed and they're still going strong :)
Thanks so much for the reply! Appreciate it. 🙂

My Princeton Velvetouch #8 long round is my workhorse. It holds a great point, better than the regular #8 round.
I have never tried the Velvetouch. Personally I prefer a shorter brush. The Princeton Aqua Elite might suit you, as it is quite long.
