Clear sea water, nice for diving, Superb water temperature and calm bay water.Tarrafal was my prefered place in Santiago for a sea sport action with the company of diver friends. Spear fishing ok. No sharks .... As I was living and working at Praia (capital) it was so nice to get into Tarrafal on week ends. Tarrafal was the early political prison of the Portugese political prisoners from Lisbon against the Portugal Fascist System and I had relatives imprisoned there.
