I'm still pre-op, so I can't say my thinking won't change, but I'm going into this with "don't get cocky" as my motto. My constant reminder. I even wrote it on the inside of my food journal. I've gotten cocky with EVERY diet I've tried and failed at over the years. I got SO cocky with keto, because I lost some weight and normalized my blood sugar (T2 diabetic). But.... I was too cocky. I gained the weight back. It wasn't sustainable for me, so here I am. I know I can screw up surgery and gain weight back too, so I'm reminding myself to not get cocky. I hope it works for me! 😊
I learned that even with this surgery getting cocky gets you into trouble. I had a 7 month stall during this covid mess eating too many carbs. It could have been worse so I am grateful that I turned it around, but lesson learned for the future. We can eat around our DS sadly with poor choices. Proud of you dude. I know how hard this is!
I am enjoying watching your videos. It’s nice to hear a guy perspective even though I am a woman. I am still in pre-op stage but surgery will hopefully be in December. Thanks for continuing to post:)
You are exactly right about how your thinking changes about other over weight people after having this surgery. I never paid attention to how many over weight folks were out there until I started my journey 8 months ago. Also, I notice how much people eat at one time. I try not to.
Hey boss, how did you get any of these mexico shops to perform the duodenal switch? Every time I speak to one they want to perform the VSG but don't want to even talk about DS (one lady kept calling it gastric bypass).
Some do not perform the DS at all. It is by far the most invasive bariatric surgery there is. If you look at the video how I shopped for bariatric surgery in Mexico I address this aspect of it. My suggestion is to vet only the providers that specifically offer DS on their website.
Not entirely, everyone's absorption differs depending on the length of intestine for your absorption track. Also, some people retain calories better than others. I'd say you will absorb 15-25% of fats and proteins. 80ish% of complex carbs (with some discomfort), and 100% of simple carbs.
@@ThatBSGuy What is your diet currently comprised of? How many carbs do you eat? Also, are you still trying to lose more weight at this point in time or are you content with where you are now? Overall, are you glad you did the procedure? I'm considering the procedure. When you said about it allowed you to come back to the playing field, that really spoke to me.
Hi. I searched arrogance after weight koss to find you. So far im down 65lbs and I want to know if im just not used to feeling good about myself or is my ego pushing me to arrogance. I’ve watched every video...surgery scheduled in January in San Antonio. These have been a huge huge help.

You are getting closer to 2 years now!
You have inspired me to attempt this…..ty
I'm new to your channel and wanted to know why you play this music? I prefer your voice. It's very calming.😊
I'm getting the surgery...taking classes now, must say I'm scared.
Don't be scared. It can be a daunting task, but it's important that you remember this step will allow you to live a better and longer life.

Where are you located...
Is is true you can eat as much fat/protein as you want due to the majority of it not being absorbed? I know carbs are 100% absorbed though.
