- Award winning author Tim Powers talks about how he researches and writes his novels of secret histories and the supernatural, and reveals the inspiration for some of the elements in his book, Medusa's Web. He also discusses his early childhood in Buffalo, NY and his long friendship with fellow writers James Blaylock and Philip K. Dick.
This interview was recorded on 10/07/2016, before a live audience at the Capclave science fiction convention in Gaithersburg, MD.
It was first shown as part of episode #294 of Fast Forward: Contemporary Science Fiction in February, 2018.
"Drawing Of The Dark" is one of my favorite books!
I was lucky enough to know Tim growing up, and I didn’t know he was an author until my mid-teens. He was always one of the most interesting people to talk to and I enjoyed every conversation we had. I still have a signed copy of On Stranger Tides I asked him to sign after I realized it was him who wrote it. A great writer and even better friend!
Looove Tim Powers' books. This was a treat :)
I need more Tim Powers. The guy is a hidden gem, cant believe he is not more popular FUCK SAKE we need HBO to do Declare right now
Tom Powers's books make me think that all sorts of supernatural elements really do exist in our everyday reality.
They do
The Stress of Her Regard, the scariest novel i ever read.
Yo leí las puertas de anubis y también leí en costas extrañas de tim powers
Are they interviewing next to the exit door so Powers can make a quick getaway from Agents? 😂
