I'm excited for Concord... Fragpunk does seem interesting, however.. I am done with these spray and pray, spam-fest games.. where skill is put aside and the one who spams bullets and spams abilities more/better, are the winners. Unfortunately Fragpunk does seem a little bit like a spam-fest, especially with the guns.. but I will not judge that aspect without having tried it. Concord seem to do this in a proper way (though, I can't say forsure without trying it), and it is not a spam-fest (spam bullets, abilities, healing).. as OW is, Val is etc. etc. I just HATE modern competitive shooters, they are so poorly made, made very noob-friendly and just.. boring af. I miss the times of CS 1.6, Quake, Unreal Tournament, TF2 etc. WHen games required a high individual skill and there would be a VERY BIG difference, between people who were very good and people who were just good. Also modern games have so much RNG... where Fragpunks cards (shards) can be seen as RNG; that is vastly different and actually just adds to the game and rather than RNG, it suggest adaptability, so that is interesting. Fragpunk seems interesting and I will give it a chance, as it does seem a billion times better than both OW and Val. However, I am NOT happy about all those teleport and Wallhack abilities... especally wallhack should not be in ANY competitive game.. it just shouldn't, not in any way or form. They also removed it from The Finals, after it was heavy requested to be removed, it just doesn't belong in any comp FPS game, period.
Definitely had a great time in the alpha. It felt like a goofier version of Valorant, with less serious gameplay, which I enjoyed as an older gamer. My hope is that Microsoft makes more of an effort to advertise and promote this game so we don’t have another spellbreak on our hands: a fun game that does because of lack of awareness and middling updates. However, I do think it would be more fun to remove some of the card RNG by allowing players to create decks of cards so that there’s more purpose behind different cards that show up in your games. Could lead to counter play and more interesting gameplay A higher TTK would also probably help the game a bit. The speedy movement + Valorant TTK felt a bit weird at times when playing against more skilled players. Val’s TTK works because of the limited mobility and focus on tactics. If FragPunk stays as fast paced as the alpha, I could see it becoming frustrating to play when the cracked out players start bunny hopping all over the world one tapping people.
