- After taking one of the biggest losses in hip-hop history to Kendrick Lamar and his #1 record 'Not Like Us' - Drake has been in a tough place.
He fought (and arguably lost) a 20v1 battle of him against Metro Boomin, Rick Ross, Future, The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott (maybe), Soulja Boy and more. It would be hard for any rapper to come back from this beef, and the diss that Kendrick sent his way, let alone the biggest rapper in the world.
Drake has made several comeback attempts but recently he just released 3 new records (1 with Latto, his label-mate Nicki Minaj's opp, and one with Young Thug and 21 Savage) along with 100gb worth of files, tour footage, sneak disses, studio footage, him recording his classic projects like Views, If You're Reading This It's Too Late, Nothing Was the Same, Take Care and more. Along with some memes that seem to be dissing J. Cole.

It was IYRTITL when I think he changed.
If you look at the cover for the album it looks like a note. Not just any note though, a suicide note.
Then throughout that album you can tell he changed a lot. He was rapping abt violence, his tone was more aggressive, and abt that street life.
I believe what he was trying to tell us with that album cover was that the old nice sweet old Drake was dead and that a new Era of Drake was emerging.
Notice how after IYRTITL, Drake became more commercial than ever. He got his first #1 hit on Views and 3 of his top 10 biggest songs. That’s when I feel like Drake changed.
