I never had much confidence in Andrew Huberman to begin with. Why, because I have known too many people with a similar background as him that either greatly exaggerated or outright fabricated stuff. I know that sounds harsh and judgemental, but it reflects my experience. This distrust applies both to their personal story and their research work.
I don't think Huberman should be "cancelled". I've gotten too much from his deep dive research paired with a riveting delivery. I'm looking forward to how he reacts to this exposure. We need mechanisms for human beings to be exposed and to work through the experience honestly without being cancelled. To talk directly about the New York article - the writer purports that each woman thought he was only seeing her... but he has spoken about his partner who he described as a musician in public. The people who surround us are a mystery - not just to us but also to themselves. Trust is built over years of interactions or under primal circumstances - its not built over a matter of months of casual dating. I do think its great that the women got to know each other and are building relationships with each other - hopefully those relationships will survive simply reacting to the actions of one man. What bothers me about this is this incredible double standard. Can you imagine that a female neuroscience professor would be publicly scrutinized for her love life like this? I don't think so, If Huberman was a she, an article like that wouldn't get published and videos like yours would be taken down as hate speech and misogyny. You may agree or disagree with what he says and you may privately approve or disapprove of his behavior. But publicizing his love life and attacking his credibility on that all the while the same societal standards wouldn't apply the other way, is just unacceptable hypocrisy. One thing as a big lesson that I learn from my personal stuff and this situation is; "If you are busy, you can be a very mean person. When I am tired I tend to stay away from people. It's not about holding him to a "very high standard", and also it's not about faults "like everyone else", its about not meeting a normal amount of social decency and sincerity for which the opinions expressed in his podcast would be believable. His behavior is well away from normal and it is also hurtful to people that socialize with him. Admitting to lying to therapists is a clear warning that his opinions on "mechanisms" to get better are unreliable at best.

Andrew is a scientist who excels at teaching practical applications of scientific principles to improve your own life. Leave it there. There is really no reason to go deeper.

I never had much confidence in Andrew Huberman to begin with. Why, because I have known too many people with a similar background as him that either greatly exaggerated or outright fabricated stuff. I know that sounds harsh and judgemental, but it reflects my experience. This distrust applies both to their personal story and their research work.

To talk directly about the New York article - the writer purports that each woman thought he was only seeing her... but he has spoken about his partner who he described as a musician in public.
The people who surround us are a mystery - not just to us but also to themselves.
Trust is built over years of interactions or under primal circumstances - its not built over a matter of months of casual dating.
I do think its great that the women got to know each other and are building relationships with each other - hopefully those relationships will survive simply reacting to the actions of one man.

What bothers me about this is this incredible double standard. Can you imagine that a female neuroscience professor would be publicly scrutinized for her love life like this? I don't think so, If Huberman was a she, an article like that wouldn't get published and videos like yours would be taken down as hate speech and misogyny. You may agree or disagree with what he says and you may privately approve or disapprove of his behavior. But publicizing his love life and attacking his credibility on that all the while the same societal standards wouldn't apply the other way, is just unacceptable hypocrisy. Especially when none of you, who feel it is appropriate to bash him for his private life, bothered to reach out for him to comment. While I choose to live my life differently as a man of roughly his age, I fail to see any connection between his alleged promiscuity and his credibility as a scientist. As far as I followed him, he never explicitly advised against the kind of behavior he engages in, so where's his alleged hypocrisy? I think the hypocrisy is yours and you just want to take down your competition.
I agree with most of what you say, but a female figure in Huberman's position would have been slut shamed in that same article. Are you aware of the variety and intensity of attacks on prominent women? They are bombarded with criticism of their sexual behavior, motherhood, weight, fashion choices, financial dealings, ad nauseam. I only wish women were magically protected from hate speech and misogyny, but no such luck. If Dr. Huberman lacks integrity in his personal life, that is gross, but it's not news. It's not about holding him to a "very high standard", and also it's not about faults "like everyone else", its about not meeting a normal amount of social decency and sincerity for which the opinions expressed in his podcast would be believable. His behavior is well away from normal and it is also hurtful to people that socialize with him. Admitting to lying to therapists is a clear warning that his opinions on "mechanisms" to get better are unreliable at best.

Why mention your training as a journalist and raise ethical responsibilities, only to go on and gossip about your friend’s relationship with an allegedly unfaithful Huberman? I read the NYM article and I am struggling to understand the relevance of the material to Huberman’s career. The writer had no basis to speculate on Huberman having a personality disorder.
If you admired Huberman, can you explain what has changed (you obviously knew about the alleged infidelity before trying to meet with him).

Every woman I have ever had a relationship with has cheated on me. My first wife went off with a friend. I got a philippino wife thinking that would be better after we got married she got pregnant to the guy who made her pregnant with her first child. She begged me for forgivness and didn't want another divorce so I stayed with her raising the two girls. She took all my money and went off with another guy. Oh and while we were together she was having affairs. So now I am 70 living in a tent in the woods on my own having panic attacks in the middle of the night. It seems you can never strike a deal with a woman.

I feel like I wasted 8:54 seconds today, actually make it 9mins (to account for commenting). As a LGBTQI liberal feminist male with relations to UN Women and Women issues, I fight patriarchy every day of my life in the name of the women in my life, I am also an anthropology student and a recent TBI survivor miraculously back to a normal life thanks in part to information like the one Andrew huberman shares and the way in which he delivers it, that is huge! And frankly I don’t see how the information that he shares has anything to do with his personal life, he is not a relationship guru, so your video is totally out of context and more in the realm of clickbait to be frank. We are all humans, and my suggestion yo you would be to go meditate and invest your time better.

I lost any respect I might have developed for you when you brought up your friend who claimed he was unfaithful. Why should we believe that? Why would you lower yourself to this level? Even if this is absolutely true, saying this without providing any evidence was not a wise thing to do. I think much less of you than of Andrew Huberman. I am neutral about him. I’ve only seen several of his videos, but I wouldn’t toss out what he has to say based on a single article attacking his character.
