My cousin found this video and sent it to me. I went to this HS, graduated in 2003. A lot of my friends went to the school for that nostalgic last meet up to go through and see everything before it was demolished. Very cool vid and nostalgic to see you go through all the rooms and hallways.

Hey Josh. I can understand how you feel about missing the time you had in high school and wishing that you should have done more back then. I graduated in 1991 before Hurricane Andrew came and destroyed my old high school in 1992, and even though there's a new school it doesn't have that same feeling. I never had a chance to return to my high school and go through to relive the memories I had back in the days. The people including you, that are able to revisit your old high school are lucky to do so.

I really hope that they can donate some of the desks and projectors etc. that are in good condition kinda feels like such a waste if they throw them away

Sad that a building in that good of condition is being torn down, that and the art is really cool. Just amazing it could not be used for something else, they even stated that the new building will add class rooms. They should have just combined both together or just updated and added a extra wing/building.

There is a bittersweetness to me with an abandoned School. It was once alive and suddenly. Everyone is gone. As a School Teacher myself, it's like when my students move to another school to go the the next grade, I'm sad to see them go yet, it's time for them to grow and move on. Many memories those abandoned schools surely have.
Despite it looking to be in good condition, with it having asbestos, if it needed roof repairs, it probably would have been more expensive to fix it than to build a new school. That's what happened to a middle school where I live. You can't really mess with asbestos and save the building. I'm glad you had a good experience in high school and got to reminisce a bit exploring this one. You couldn't pay me enough to go back to high school. Most miserable years of my life. Classes were fine, and I was a straight A student, but socially it was torture.

Never got to experince High School, dropped out in Middle school. (I did get my GED and graduted College Aug2023) But I did got back to my home state of New Mexico a few years ago or so and visited my old Elementry school. A Mennonite family/group had just bought it. They had only moved into the old cafeteria and the rest was still intact. So after talking woth one of the ladies there, who was actually excited to meet a former student, was more than happy to let me explore as much as I wanted. The fish's name is Jerffery and the crab is Simon.

Holy crap! That’s my hometown high school! I went there for about a month but transferred Also “richest” they didn’t have air conditioning thats the main reason i transferred it was MISERABLE
We also didn’t have toilet paper in the bathrooms by the end of the week unless you went to the out of the way ones cause the janitors didn’t care at least when I was going lmao
I just turned 23 graduated highschool in 2019 and couldn't wait to get out. But a lot lately I have really began missing it. They were absolutely great times
What you're doing here is like college. Going out to explore places you've never seen before, checking out abandoned places that have a history, meeting new people. Heck, I'll never forget those videos of you and your explorer friends where you guys went to the Catacombs in Paris.

I returned to North Babylon High School while completing my Masters degree in music. I worked that semester as a substitute teacher. As an alum,my walking down the hallways brought forth many a memory. Looking out at the track, having run varsity with a championship team here on Long Island, I felt good as I did recall many a memory When teaching in some of my old classrooms, I remembered a lot.There is much I can say about this but this a long comment anyway. Now as an old man these memories mean even more.

At the beginning when you said this video will be for the people that might have been hear before it showed the news clip of saying Middleborough high school I was shocked I’ve been there a bunch growing up and was expecting to go there, but I ended up moving to western North Carolina my long friend was the last graduating class in the old school. My former high school is closing. I went back to visit and it was like doing an abandoned video when I vlogged it. Haunted building too. It was creepy all empty. I never liked our assembly room. I found out later from former owners that people died in there. :O It's an old farmhouse.
You were jumping the track hurdles backwards, you are suppose to face them the other way so if you don't make it all the way over they will tip with you and you can keep running
Josh, I'm 63yrs old and I still miss school, but I think it's mostly my friends I miss the most, and sometimes I think I should have done this or that, but I was so shy, I would change alot of things if we could turn back time.

I have six weeks left of my bachelor’s degree and let me just say I would love to walk through my old school again. I know they have done renovations to both buildings but my schools are what made me who i am today. To any of my former teachers, thank you for pushing me to levels i never thought possible.
I can tell you one thing Josh is right about that you will miss your school days when your older for the people that still go to school and hate it trust me you will one day realise on how much you will miss it cuss for me I used to hate it a lot but know I’m 22 I do miss it and sometimes wished I could experience it one more time

I have very vague memories of this school. I didn't attend here, I live a couple towns over, but I remeber doing Girl Scout events there, seeing some plays. But this makes me miss my high school so much. When times were simple, even when I didn't think they were.

According to google this school is being torn down due to a really bad school shootting and how traumatizing it was for the students, so after the shooting the school decided they are going to destroy it and rebuild for a fresh start for the students.
@@kristievaldovinos9421 seriously and some are saying it's because of asbestos but why would anyone close down a school because of shooting it's odd ya, so many shootings have happened in various schools they didn't shut down.
The White instrument you were blowing into is the bottom half of a sousaphone or a tuba! I played that in high school marching band. they have a large open "bell" that attaches to the top. They also have a large mouth piece that goes into the part that you were blowing on.
It’s crazy when your younger all you can think is you can’t wait to grow up then when you grow up you start to realize time goes by to fast and there is a cost to growing up you lose love ones along the way so young people enjoy being young don’t rush to grow up there is time for that.
Yes high school for me was awesome. I wish I could go back. But I have to settle for reunions every five years. Looking forward to my 40th high school reunion in 2027, hopefully we make it there

My first elementary school I started my first kindergarten year had to close own and we merge with other elementary down the road and they end up sold our old elementary school and some college company bought and now are trying to use as a college campus and sad that school has changed alot
Same. My high school was built in the 60s on marshlands and still in use. It’s even half the size of this one being demolished in the video. They wouldn’t even take new fans for the classrooms even though it has no a/c. City living… 🙄

The lockers that look like cages are sport/gym lockers. The holes help increase air flow so that the items inside of lockers can stay cool and dry.

According to google this school is being torn down due to a really bad school shootting and how traumatizing it was for the students, so after the shooting the school decided they are going to destroy it and rebuild for a fresh start for the students.
If your Google search the school name the first 20 articles that pop up are about the school shooting.
@@kristievaldovinos9421 seriously and some are saying it's because of asbestos but why would anyone close down a school because of shooting it's odd ya, so many shootings have happened in various schools they didn't shut down.

The White instrument you were blowing into is the bottom half of a sousaphone or a tuba! I played that in high school marching band. they have a large open "bell" that attaches to the top. They also have a large mouth piece that goes into the part that you were blowing on.

It’s crazy when your younger all you can think is you can’t wait to grow up then when you grow up you start to realize time goes by to fast and there is a cost to growing up you lose love ones along the way so young people enjoy being young don’t rush to grow up there is time for that.

I'm class of 2000 and I remember your high school abandoned video you did. I agree with you that if I was able to go back and redo high school with the knowledge I have now I totally would do things differently. I would try to hang out with the lds/mormon kids more and even try to get a girlfriend back then. I was too chicken shit in high school to ask a girl out. Even in junior high and I had a crush in junior high but never asked her out.

I went to a private Christian school where there was a fire in the church, so they tore down the whole school as well. 🔥

My first elementary school I started my first kindergarten year had to close own and we merge with other elementary down the road and they end up sold our old elementary school and some college company bought and now are trying to use as a college campus and sad that school has changed alot
My HS was built back in the 50's but it's still in use.
Same. My high school was built in the 60s on marshlands and still in use. It’s even half the size of this one being demolished in the video. They wouldn’t even take new fans for the classrooms even though it has no a/c. City living… 🙄
